Job Description:
- Function and Discipline
- Function: Quality Discipline Quality Assurance Function Description Ensures that the quality of UTC suppliers, products and processes are compliant with internal and regulatory standards and are continuously improving. Discipline Description Develops and implements program quality plans and procedures.
- Organization Level Description
- Owns the execution of long-term strategy (e.g., more than 3 years) and operational direction, typically for an entire region, country, product or business of considerable size and scope. or, Owns the establishment and execution of short- to medium-term operational plans (e.g., less than 1 year to 1-2 years) for the organization.
- Problems faced are often complex and require extensive investigation and analysis.
- Requires ability to influence others to accept practices and approaches, and ability to communicate and influence executive leadership.
- Purpose Owns the execution of Quality Assurance operational goals and plans.
- May lead multiple teams responsible for Quality Assurance for a large organization.
- Sets direction and leads resources to ensure continuous quality improvement. Provides guidance across the organization in the implementation of plans and procedures that drive achievement of Quality goals. Responsibility Statements Directs development of plans, guidelines, policies and processes, to ensure the achievement of quality targets.
- Develops and leads implementation of organization projects and processes to ensure overall quality is continuously improving.
- Drives quality improvement processes to ensure on-going reductions in Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) and escapes.
- Directs collection and analysis of quality information from multiple sources to develop long-term quality strategy and programs.
- Directs production process analyses, ensuring quality standards are met and making recommendations for quality improvement
Qualifications:
- Degree in Electrical / Mechanical / Production Engineering.
- At least 18+ years’ experience in component / assembly Manufacturing environment with at least 8 years leading a team of Quality
- Sound knowledge in the concept of Continuous Improvement and customer initiatives
- Effective communication interpersonal skills
- Good analytical technical problem-solving skills
- Assertive yet tactful in approach
- AS9100D Aviation QMS Auditor & EtQ
- Customer requirements understanding
- APQP / PPAP / MPR / MFP / ZDP / CORE
- Understanding of various manufacturing & special processes and Digitalization tools
- Knowledge of RRCA, analytics
- FAI as per AS9102, Netinspect
- Statistical analysis / Six Sigma is desirable
- Good knowledge of Aeronautical systems
- Understanding of Airworthiness certification regulations and standards
- Stakeholder Management -
- All VS Quality managers and leads, Programs Team
- Global SBU, VS customer quality managers, VSLs
- Operations, SCM, ME, logistics etc
- External regulatory bodies and customers
- Key Result Areas -
- Customer PPM, RMAs, Major NC’s
- Customer Get to Green plans, Regulatory Audits Plan Vs Actual
- FAI’s for new programs / work transfers
- Improvement projects, Implementation of ZDP, MPR, PPAP etc
