Job Description:

The Vacations Technical Analyst supports our Purpose by joining and championing the work by our Vacations Booking Engine & Revenue Management Team. The Team manages the booking engine operations that support Southwest Vacations and the new Getaways by Southwest™ space, which is part of our reimagined Customer Experience. This Analyst will lead business acceptance testing of booking engine builds and updates, troubleshooting, updating user configurations, and onboarding new partners into the booking engine. They also work closely with Teams in Getaway Revenue Management, Partnership Management, Contracting, Technology Strategy, partner/Customer Operations, Marketing, Technology, and Commercial Planning. The Vacations Technical Analyst is excited to lean in to this new chapter for Southwest Airlines, and they’ll help pilot our future success.

Responsibilities
- Support configuration and maintenance of the vacation booking engine (VBE)
- Execute troubleshooting of configuration issues impeding desired input changes to the VBE
- Support user testing for major changes/updates to the VBE
- Identify new configuration opportunities to improve efficiency, effectiveness, or overall user experience
- Partner with Vacation Strategy Teams and VBE vendor when navigating complex configuration assignments
- Collaborate with Marketing Team to manage content and promotions at both market and individual partner levels
- May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of digital tool logic and limitations
- Skilled in navigating complex digital platforms
- Skilled in translating output requirements into configuration specifications
- Ability to learn new platforms
- Ability to communicate effectively, written and verbally
- Ability to work under tight deadlines, balance competing priorities, and manage time effectively
- Ability to properly manage highly sensitive and confidential information
- Ability to project poise, confidence, and maturity in both internal and external situations
Education
- Required: High School Diploma or GED
Experience
- Intermediate level experience, fully functioning broad knowledge in:
- Managing the configuration and routine maintenance for a digital platform
- Converting internal Customer requirements into configuration specifications
Physical Abilities
- Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
- Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
- Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
Other Qualifications
- Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
- Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
Pay & Benefits:
- Competitive market salary from $78,850 per year to $87,600 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
