About the team you are joining
IATA's Sustainability and Economics division works with airlines,
regulators and civil society to develop and implement policies, standards, and
solutions that support the sustainable development of air transport and
mitigate its impact on the environment.
You will report to the Assistant Director Sustainability Programs
and will be responsible for supporting the development of the sustainability modules
under the EcoHub. Furthermore, you will participate in technical working
groups, e.g., under ICAO CAEP, and promote industry standards and recommended
practices developed by E&S.
What your day would be like
Your role will be to assist with implementing sustainability data
solutions linked to airline CO2 emissions, Sustainable Aviation
Fuels (SAF), and other related decarbonization pathways. You will focus on
comprehensive data analysis and the collection of data from member airlines and
related metrics to track the industry’s progress toward its environmental
objectives.
You will also assist with the implementation of environmental
technology solutions, working with other divisions and with IT vendors.
You will be in contact with airlines to assist them with their
reporting requirements under mandatory environmental reporting schemes (e.g.
CORSIA) or support them with any other environmental initiatives they might be
involved in. Also, you will:
Maintain and update aircraft-specific fuel and cargo data
Close collaboration with the Chief Data Officer and with internal IT systems experts to ensure smooth application of all related data sets and their role in IATA’s overall data strategy.
Assist with the development of environmental performance metrics to track industry progress.
Close collaboration with aviation stakeholders and airline working groups to identify the most appropriate metric(s) to be used.
Support the annual data collection exercise to track progress toward net zero 2050.
Assist with user support linked to different systems or platforms, e.g. CORSIA Center, ACE, CO2 Connect:
Direct airline interaction and support in all environmental aspects and initiatives airlines are involved.
Access and onboarding to systems/platforms.
Providing an understanding of the data reporting requirements.
Data analytical support, internal and external.
System enhancements including:
assist with the sprint planning;
help developing detailed user stories.
conduct user acceptance testing in coordination with the system lead.
Prepare presentations and general support to the team leading up to industry meetings or other aviation environment related events.
Assist in the preparation of product development papers and business cases.ed.
We would love to hear from you if
1 to 3 years of experience and a university degree in a related discipline.
Experience in the aviation industry with a good understanding of aviation environment and sustainability matters, flight operations, fuel management or similar.
Experience in managing data sets and outstanding qualitative and quantitative analytical skills.
Your written and spoken English is excellent. Proficiency in additional languages would be an asset.
You are a flexible teammate, with strong collaboration and interpersonal skills.
