The vacancy: Process Engineer
We are looking for a motivated Process Engineer to join the surface treatment and enhancement of Fokker Landing Gear in Papendrecht. In this role, you will support and help maintain processes such as electroplating (chrome, nickel, cadmium), NDT inspections, shot-peening, and painting for landing gear components.
We’re particularly looking for a strong team player with excellent communication skills, enabling them to collaborate effectively with other departments and assist in troubleshooting in the workshop. Additionally, we are seeking a Process Engineer eager to grow into a shot-peening specialist for our automated systems. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for process improvement, the ability to create and maintain SOPs, and experience supporting audits.

Fokker Landing Gear
Fokker Landing Gear (FLG) designs, developments, manufactures and assembles complete landing gears, as well as the repair and overhaul of systems in use. FLG manufactures parts for the Apache attack helicopter, the F-35 Lightning II (JSF), the Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 and the multipurpose NH90 helicopter. For a Dutch aviation company of this size, we have acquired a unique position in the F-35 (JSF) program based on our design and development capabilities.
What You'll Do
- Analysing product specifications, defining methods for processing and drawing up process- and processing instructions for products which will be galvanized, NDT, Paint and Shot-peened;
- Managing tooling design and production;
- Analysing, understanding and solving deviations in the production process in a structured manner;
- Developing and improving processes and production methods;
- Introducing and supporting the start-up of new processes;
- Training operators and spreading knowledge within the organization;
- Participate in project teams, audits and consultations with customers and suppliers as an expert on galvanic processes.
What You'll Bring
- Completed an applied engineering undergrad or masters (HBO/WO) in Chemical Technology with a passion or background for mechanical engineering (metallurgical);
- Relevant knowledge and experience in electroplating process techniques;
- Relevant knowledge and experience with NDT, Shot-peen and paint processes;
- Strong documentation/reporting skills;
- Analytical, accurate and mind-set for high quality;
- Pragmatic and a solution-oriented attitude;
- Hands on attitude and mindset.
- Good knowledge in English language, both writing and spoken;
- Basic knowledge in the Dutch knowledge is appreciated.
