Position Summary
The Associate Material Management Specialist is part of a twenty-four (24) hours, seven (7) days a week Material Management team responsible to ensure aircraft are on the ground for the shortest time possible. The Associate Material Management Specialist is responsible for maintaining an asset pool to support an aircraft fleet by sending unserviceable components for repair and ensuring appropriate turnaround times are met by repair vendors/stations. The Associate Specialist also maintains stock levels at bases, analyzing pool size and making recommendations for increase / decrease in accordance with budgets provided for the fiscal year. Ensures inventory is accurate and optimized across the system and all physical locations and also creates and manages all records within the ERP system to meet regulatory compliance standards.
This position has an estimated duration of 24-36 months.
Key Responsibilities
- Create repair and exchange orders
- Contact and manage suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery or completion of all contracted requirements; Resolve issues with Suppliers for defective goods received
- Work with key suppliers to improve lead time using statistics to target service levels
- Perform various activities in support of the successful receipt and distribution of parts to support all maintenance requirements
- Gather, collect, record, track, and verify information from multiple sources and communicate to the group as needed; Provide clear status updates on all critical or urgent orders that are being tracked
- Compile, review and analyze data related to the operational activities and generate reports, statistics, timelines, tables, graphs, and presentations as needed to improve performance and processes
- Obtain technical information needed to reconcile issues
- Manage the entire repair cycle, analyze quotes, and make recommendations
- Maintain and manage accurate and complete inventory records
- Build and maintain part number records to include general inventory and tooling
- Support inventory counting activities and adjustments
- Prepare and reconcile journal entry, general ledger reconciliations, fixed asset maintenance and monthly and year end closings
- Identifies and directs disposal of surplus or obsolete inventory
- Engage with various internal and external business units to support their requirements
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
- Associates degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or related field or equivalent work experience.
- Strong process analysis and continuous improvement skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-directing, and ability to meet deadlines in dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other business/ERP/MRP systems
- Flexibility in schedule including, but not limited to after hours, holidays and weekends is required.
- On call support, travel domestic and international to support activities related to aircraft maintenance support, resolving supplier issues, negotiating value added pricing and developing joint remedies to supplier issues is required
- Capability to understand technical documents, work with cross-functional teams and make recommendations based on data and analysis
- High ethical standards and the ability to handle multiple projects and priorities at the same

Please note that the provided salary information serves as a general guideline. Our salary is determined by a candidate's experience and qualifications as well as market and business considerations. The expected pay range is $58,000 - $76,700.

- Proven change agent to work in highly complex and stressful environments
- Strong negotiation skills
- Self-directing, and able to meet deadlines in an environment of constantly changing priorities and data
