Job Description:
L3Harris Corporation is currently seeking a high-energy Senior Production Planner for Operations. This is an onsite role located at our Camden, NJ facility. The Sr. Production Planner is responsible for strategic and daily execution of the manufacturing function and will report to the Planning Operations Manager. This position will provide support to several different projects by managing the workflow across the production area in support of Specific Line of Businesses. The Senior Production Planner Plans, schedules, coordinates and/or monitors final approval of products through the complete production cycle to meet production requirements. Works from engineering plans and production specifications to ensure materials are provided according to schedules. Advises management of the status of work in progress, coordinates with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain and interfaces with engineering and program management as well as external customers. Ensures availability of materials and labor to meet production requirements and delivery commitments. Works to resolve labor and material shortages, backlogs and other potential schedule interruptions.
Essential Functions:
- Strong knowledge in Hi-tech Military Grade Communictions equipment to include: Cabinet Assembly, Cable Harness, Automate Circuit Card Assembly, and Box Build.
- Monitor order status, including material status, managing WIP areas, location accuracy, inventory discrepancies, manufacturing and program support, and communication support
- Engages with other IPT Leads, Functional Managers, and leadership to promote successful action planning and execution
- Frequent collaboration with multiple functions (e.g., Design Engineering, Contracts, manufacturing, etc.) and the program office
- Support overall Program by contributing schedule inputs and changes into the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), maintaining timely and effective change management processes and procedures
- Support multidisciplinary program reviews and presentations throughout the different phases of development, certification, and production readiness with internal and external stakeholders
- May manage large projects or processes that are both inside and outside of immediate job area
- Coordinate and Negotiate workflow through multiple work centers to secure needed resources while ensuring hanging customer demands, and schedule deadlines are met
- Serve as the Earned Value Work Package Manager for assigned programs
- Analyze material configuration and job order status using Windows-based computer systems and software
- Responsible for providing guidance, coaching and training to other employees.
- Contributes to achievement of departmental goals and operating plans with direct impact on the departmental results
Qualifications:
- Requires strong knowledge Strong knowledge in Hi-tech Military Grade Communictions equipment to include: Cabinet Assembly, Cable Harness, Automate Circuit Card Assembly, and Box Build.
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
- Significant working experience with execution of earned value management (EVM)
- Demonstrated experience preparing and presenting business status, presentations, and business cases to executive leaders and external customer
- Ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Experienced with all phases of manufacturing and program management (development, planning, conceptual design, requirements definition, preliminary design, prototyping, test and evaluation, integration, entry to production, etc
