ResponsibilitiesThe Analyst I, Ops Strategy assists theManager, Ops Analysis, in identifying and analyzing data essential to the measurement, evaluation, and optimization of the operation. The Analyst works collaboratively with various business stakeholders and generates and presents actionable insights and recommendations to improve the business.
- Uses advanced data modeling and analysis techniques to discover insights that will guide strategic decisions and uncover optimization opportunities.
- Build dashboards and performance metrics to inform key business decisions.
- Queries, cleans, and transforms data, as well as develops reports and scorecards to monitor key operational performance metrics.
- Assist in the maintenance of data models, reporting systems, and data automation systems.
- Serves as subject matter expert in airline performance data and as a main point of contact for related ad-hoc data requests, including root-cause identification.
- Analyzes and interprets data to optimize various aspects of the operation. Sample projects include, but are not limited to:
- Use flight metrics and other data sources to model the risk of lines of flight.
- Analyze aircraft maintenance schedules to inform changes in maintenance standards
- Analyze operational (inflight, airport, etc.) team member staffing and resource utilization
- Facilitates collaboration among business stakeholders in Operations, Airports, Crew, Network Planning, Marketing, IT, Finance, etc. to discuss and address operational challenges.
- Develops presentation materials for sharing analyses and results with senior leadership.
- May perform other responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change when circumstances dictate (e.g., emergencies change in workload, rush jobs or technical developments).
Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in a Quantitative or Business field required.
- 1-3 years' experience required.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
- Data mining/manipulation and analysis skills (e.g., Excel, Python, R, SQL).
- Data visualization skills (Microsoft Power BI preferred with experience using DAX, Power Query).
- Attention to detail.
- Naturally curious with a solution driven mindset.
- Experience in travel/hospitality industry or in Operations preferred.
- Domestic & International travel under 10% of the time.
