About the team you are joining
As the Tech Lead, Cloud Engineering reporting to the Head of Cloud
Engineering and IT Operations, you will lead a high-performing team of Cloud
Engineers responsible for designing, operating, and optimizing IATA’s AWS,
Azure, and on-premises infrastructures. In this role,
you will oversee the strategic direction of cloud engineering initiatives,
assign projects and tasks, work with strategic vendors, and ensure adherence to
IATA’s Unified Infrastructure standards. You will drive the continuous
improvement of cloud operations, champion industry best practices, and foster
an environment of collaboration and professional development within the team.
What your day would be like
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Cloud Engineers, providing direction, coaching, and professional growth opportunities.
- Assign projects, tasks, and responsibilities to team members to ensure effective workload distribution and timely project delivery.
- Working closely with the Head of Cloud Engineering and IT Operations, develop and implement the strategic roadmap for IATA’s AWS and on-premises infrastructures, ensuring they meet current and future business needs.
- Participate in RFPs, architectural reviews, and project planning related to Cloud Infra Architecture, Hosting, and operational requirements.
- Day to day running of IATA AWS, Azure and On-Premises infrastructures.
- Monitor and tune Cloud Infra performance.
- Work on cloud engineering issues and tickets in IATA ITSM
tool.
- Troubleshoot OS and application problems.
- Manage the relationship with Application Support Teams, which
includes external vendors, with new application onboarding and daily
operations.
- Manage full application stacks from the OS through custom
applications using Amazon cloud-based computing environments.
- Maintain IATA’s existing AD infrastructure including Azure AD
- Maintain IATA’s existing DNS infrastructure.
- Implement and maintain automation tools across IT focusing on
IATA’s Infrastructure which include Terraform, Argo etc.
- Manage a continuous integration/continuous deployment
methodology for the server-based technologies.
- Work with development, application support and architecture
teams to design and implement scalable software solutions and services.
- Follow all best practices and procedures as established by
IATA as part of the Unified Infrastructure.
We would love to hear from you if
- BS in Computer Science, IT, IS, or equivalent area of technical study (IT experience can substitute for a BS degree);
- Certification on AWS Platform (Solutions Architect Associate or SysOps Administrator Associate or equivalent);
- Minimum 8 years’ experience with Amazon Web Services, IT Operations and Architecture;
- Experience in designing and building environments on AWS, including services such as EC2, S3, ELB, RDS, Kubernetes etc.;
- Experience in DevOps tools such as Atlassian, Bitbucket, Azure DevOPS, etc.;
- Experience to create and utilize Terraform templates to automate creation of AWS environments;
- Experience in Windows and Linux operating system environments;
- Experience in scripting with PowerShell, Python, etc.;
