Job Overview And Responsibilities
United Airlines’ Agent Performance application team partners with business and technology leaders across the company to create high performing services and real time messaging applications across key airline functionalities such as Agent scorecard, forecast, capacity planning, scheduling and reporting systems and Operations to help support the Contact Center functions of United.
As a software developer in the Agent Performance application team, you will be responsible for the development of mission critical applications, while working with a team of developers. This individual will build high performing, real-time data /ETL pipeline, Power BI dashboard solutions. You will play a large role in building data caches and real time messaging applications, used by operational and commercial systems across the company. Additionally, as a developer, you will build these applications with a focus on delivering cloud based solutions. The individual will use leading edge technologies and enterprise grade integration software on a daily basis.
- Participate in full development life cycle including requirements data analysis and design
- Serve as technical expert on development projects
- Write technical specifications based on conceptual design and stated business requirements
- Support, maintain, and document software functionality
- Identify and evaluate new technologies for implementation
- Analyze code to find causes of errors and revise programs as needed
- Participate in software design meetings and analyze user needs to determine technical requirements
- Consult with end user to prototype, refine, test, and debug programs to meet needs
- Recognized as expert in field, knowledgeable of emerging trends and industry practices
- Conducts the most complex and vital work critical to the organization

Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor (Graduate preferred) degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Informatics, Information Systems, or another quantitative field
- 3+ years of experience with Data Lake Infrastructure, Data Warehousing, and Data Analytics tools.
- 3+ years working experience in AWS Glue ETL, Redshift, Step Function, Athena
- Experience in implementing data pipelines for both streaming and batch integrations using tools/frameworks like Glue ETL, Lambda, Spark, Spark Experience in Lake Formation Orchestration, Maintain and enhance models for SDLC using CI/CD pipelines in AWS.
- Experience in Relational and NoSQL databases, such as MySQL or Postgres and DynamoDB.
- Functional and scripting languages: Python, Advanced SQL.
- 2+ years in cloud data engineering experience in AWS
- Experience with integration of multi cloud services with on-premises technologies.
- Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and building high-volume ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Experience with data profiling and data quality tools like Apache Griffin, Deequ, and Great Expectations.
- Experience building/operating highly available, distributed systems of data extraction, ingestion, and processing of large data sets.
- Experience with at least one MPP database technology such as Redshift, Synapse or SnowFlake.
- Experience with running and scaling applications on the cloud infrastructure and containerized services like Kubernetes.
- Experience with version control systems like Github and deployment & CI tools.
- Working knowledge of agile development, including DevOps and DataOps concepts.
Preferred
- Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems
- Familiarity with business intelligence tools (such as PowerBI) Education
- 3+ years of experience in SQL optimization and performance tuning, and development experience in programming languages like Python, PySpark, Scala etc.).
- Familiarity with native Cloud technologies/patterns (AWS/Azure), Docker containers and Container Orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes
- Experience with Statistical/ML techniques and insights is a plus.
- Experience building and optimizing ‘big data’ pipelines, architectures, and data sets.
- Understanding of metadata management, data lineage, and data glossaries is a plus.
