The Rolls-Royce Defence Bristol UK Team are recruiting for a Safety Management Systems lead. The Safety Management Systems lead will be executing required activities to maintain required certifications for the MAA, EASA, CAA and standards approvals body and develop positive working relationship with the Regulatory/Standards representatives in person on the Defence UK and International sites.
The Safety Management Lead will provide regulatory guidance to the Rolls-Royce Defence organization and lead the Safety Management System. They will also develop and deliver on the internal and external audit programs for Defence UK & International along with improving and maintaining the quality system and ensure alignment with the new Rolls-Royce Management System.

What you will be doing
In this exciting new role, you will have a chance to:
- Develop and maintain a new Defence UK and International Safety Management System (OE) to meet the regulatory requirements and roll out across the organization and also collaborate with the wider Rolls-Royce Safety Management community to share best practices and adopt improvements to support One Rolls-Royce.
- Support and improve the existing Safety Management System (MRO) to ensure compliance to the regulation and lead human factors investigations as the Subject Matter Expert.
- Perform and support Audits to ensure the Audit Plan is met and manage any Non Conformances raised to ensure they are managed to the business requirements in line with internal procedures and timescales.
- Report and communicate safety concerns in a clear and concise way to managers of all levels to support the safety management culture.
- Support the deliverable of functional KPI’s, including developing and maintaining.

- Degree Educated or Relevant experience in Operations or Quality Systems
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to build effective teams
- Certified Lead Auditor, Aerospace experience, 8D Practitioner and MEDA trained all preferred
- Green Belt or Black Belt accredited, or willing to progress to accreditation.
