AirAsia X is seeking a skilled and experienced Legal Counsel to join our team . The Legal Counsel will provide comprehensive legal support to the company, primarily focusing on commercial contracts, regulatory compliance, and general legal matters related to the airline industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including but not limited to aircraft leases, supplier contracts, and service agreements.
- Advise on legal matters related to aviation regulations, compliance, and licensing requirements.
- Provide legal support and guidance to various departments within the organization, including operations, finance, and procurement.
- Conduct legal research and stay updated on industry developments, regulatory changes, and best practices.
- Assist in resolving legal disputes, claims, and other matters as they arise.
- Collaborate with external legal counsel and other stakeholders as necessary.
- Assist in the development and implementation of company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Support other legal initiatives and projects as assigned by the General Counsel or senior management.

Experience and Qualifications required
- Law degree and professional legal qualification with minimum 6-7 years post-qualification experience working in as a in-house counsel for a medium to large international corporation.
- Fluent written and spoken English & ability to speak and/or read Mandarin will be a plus point.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly in explaining legal concepts and issues in simple language to non-lawyers and providing succinct, accurate and comprehensible legal advice. Knowledge of the legal areas relevant to e-commerce and digital including contracting and procurement
- Ability to understand and take account of business drivers and needs, and to draft contract with appropriate understanding and interpretation of the business and commercial intentions
- Strong influencing, negotiating and facilitation skills
- Exposure to international civil and/or common law contracts
- Ability to develop and sustain relationships with clients at all levels and in a range of cultures.
