Job Purpose
Support the Crew Planning Standards Manager in managing labour relations and regulatory compliance within the Crew Planning department, across interactions with union sections, operational stakeholders, and internal governance processes, in accordance with current labour agreements, aviation regulations, and internal procedure, to ensure the strategic and operational needs of Crew Planning are represented, decisions are based on accurate and timely information, and the department remains compliant and audit-ready.
Main Accountabilities
- Ensure seamless coordination across departments and compliance throughout the fleet transition.
- Ensure that all rostering-related discussions are well-informed, structured and lead to enforceable outcomes.
- Maintain a robust and efficient governance structure for rostering-related decisions.
- Verify compliance with both internal procedures and external regulatory expectations.
- Strengthen process reliability and regulatory alignment within the department.
- Guarantee Crew Planning’s compliance with all current legal and contractual obligations.
- Contribute to the smooth handling of labour-related matters that may impact Crew Planning’s performance and resources.
- Avoid bottlenecks in the negotiation workflow and ensure strategic discussions can proceed uninterrupted.
- Provide timely and accurate responses that meet internal standards and foster trust with unions.
- Ensure consistent and informed communication that upholds Crew Planning’s interests in all labour discussions.
Main Responsibilities - Tasks
- Lead and support cross-departmental strategic projects, including the fleet transition from Airbus to Boeing, ensuring alignment with operational, regulatory, and company standards.
- Support the Crew Planning Standards Manager in acting as a liaison between Crew Planning and the trade union sections, representing operational needs and aligning them with regulatory and collective bargaining frameworks.
- Collect and analyse data derived from collective bargaining agreements, regulatory texts, audits and union requests.
- Ensure proper implementation and monitoring of changes in regulation, collective agreements or company policies affecting crew planning.
- Coordinate internal and external audits within Crew Planning, supporting their planning and execution.
- Provide operational and regulatory insights during labour negotiations, offering support to the Standards Manager and contributing to strategic decisions.
- Contribute to identifying opportunities for procedural optimisation or conflict resolution through analysis of overlapping or contradictory rules.
- Support implementation of negotiated changes within Crew Planning operations.
Main Relationships
- Labour Relations Department: for coordinating negotiation strategy and conflict resolution.
- Compliance Department: for ensuring alignment with legal and regulatory obligations and audit preparation.
- Cabin Crew Department: for aligning planning rules and collective agreements with operational needs.
- Flight Operations Department: for addressing rostering and pilot-related standards compliance.
- Change Management Department: for implementing agreed changes and updates to planning methodologies.
- Crew Planning Stakeholders: for preparing and validating technical content for commissions and negotiations.
- Trade Union Sections: for information requests, negotiations, and follow-up of agreements.
- Training Department: for gathering operational and qualification data and coordinating the alignment and transition between fleets.
Education
- A degree in Engineering/Business Administration/Aviation Management, or related, is required.
Experience
- 2 years of experience in project management.
- Ideally, 2 years of direct experience in Crew Rostering, Crew Control or Operational departments.
- Desirable experience in leading or supporting cross-departmental strategic projects, such as fleet transitions, system implementations, or process transformations.

- Knowledge of airline rostering systems, especially AIMS, or similar crew planning
tools is essential. - Solid understanding of crew rostering regulations, labour agreements and aviation-related compliance requirements.
