STS Aviation Services is hiring a P2F Project Manager to support aircraft Passenger to Freighter conversion programmes based in Manchester. This role sits at the heart of complex modification activity, owning daily build execution, cross functional coordination, cost control, and delivery performance across P2F inputs.
This is a senior, hands-on project leadership role suited to professionals with deep aircraft modification experience and a proven ability to drive structured delivery in fast paced MRO environments.
Role Overview
The P2F Project Manager is responsible for the day to day management of P2F build plans, ensuring each phase of work progresses on time, within budget, and in line with customer and regulatory expectations. You will work closely with Planning, Supply Chain, Engineering, Tooling, and Production leadership to maintain momentum and remove barriers to execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively manage P2F build plans on a daily basis, ensuring timely completion of each stage
- Organise and coordinate all elements required for upcoming work steps based on the forecast plan
- Communicate effectively with cross functional teams including Planning, Supply Chain, Tooling, and Engineering to ensure schedule inputs are met
- Liaise closely with Check Managers and Zonal Leaders to understand work status, define next steps, and agree appropriate resource allocation
- Act as a primary liaison with Mammoth engineers throughout the build process
- Ensure all P2F documentation is completed accurately and within agreed timescales
- Maintain oversight of manhour control and budget performance, ensuring estimates are realistic and support customer approval
- Produce and communicate daily and weekly progress reports as required
- Identify risks, constraints, or obstacles impacting the build plan and support timely resolution
- Coordinate with resource planning to ensure continuity and efficient manpower deployment
- Apply continuous improvement principles, using lessons learned to improve efficiency on subsequent inputs
Skills And Experience
- Demonstrable project planning and management experience with successful delivery of complex programmes
- Minimum of 8 years aircraft maintenance, modification, or production experience
- Previous aircraft modification or production supervisory experience is essential
- Strong understanding of aircraft structures and manufacturing processes
- Proven ability to build and maintain effective cross team working relationships
- Excellent organisational, leadership, and communication skills
- Recognised training or qualification in Project Management
- Degree level education in Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience preferred
