Commercial & Strategy Analyst, you’ll play a key role in delivering high‑quality analysis, supporting major transformation initiatives, and contributing to negotiations and commercial outcomes across the Freight business. You’ll partner with stakeholders across the organisation, providing insights that influence decision‑making on high‑value, high‑impact projects such as the ~$150m+ p.a. Australia Post contract, NDA‑based strategic initiatives, and other key freight customers including Amazon.
Qantas Freight is the integrated end-to-end air freight solution provider with the Qantas Group operating both domestically and around the world. Fuelled by the ever-increasing growth in eCommerce, the air freight business has changed fundamentally over the past 5 with both significant opportunities as well as challenges and critical strategic decisions for management. Qantas Freight’s remit includes the domestic freight operation-both PAX belly and domestic freighters, international freighters and Freight terminal operations domestic and overseas. The Freight business currently utilises approximately 18 dedicated freighter aircraft and sells the belly space for all Qantas passenger flights.
You’ll Make An Impact By
- Supporting and leading analytical work on significant commercial projects
- Delivering high‑quality research and data sourcing
- Preparing polished reporting for senior stakeholders
- Building strong relationships across the Freight business
- Supporting documentation and project workflows
You’ll Have
- 4–5 years’ experience in analytical, commercial, financial or strategic roles
- Degree qualifications in Business, Finance, Economics or similar
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving and financial modelling capability
- High‑level computer literacy, including advanced Excel and solid PowerPoint skills
- Confidence sourcing data from internal systems and market/industry sources
- Stakeholder management experience with the ability to build trusted relationships
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Sound organisational skills and ability to prioritise competing deadlines
- Maturity, confidentiality and professionalism when working on sensitive projects
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative, high‑performing team environment
