Job Summary
IndiGo is looking for a highly skilled
Assistant Manager - SEO to drive organic growth across IndiGo’s Web and App platforms. This role is ideal for a proactive SEO professional with 5-7 years of experience who can independently own strategy and execution while collaborating closely with digital marketing, social, product, tech, and creative teams.
The role goes beyond traditional SEO, with a strong focus on Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), and Large Language Model Optimization (LLMO) to ensure IndiGo’s content performs across modern search and AI-driven discovery platforms.
Key Responsibilities
SEO Strategy & Ownership:
- Define and execute a comprehensive SEO strategy aligned with IndiGo’s business, product, and growth objectives across Web & App.
- Own SEO KPIs end-to-end: traffic quality, rankings, conversions, and business impact.
- Independently plan, prioritize, and execute initiatives with minimal supervision.
Keyword & Content Optimization
- Conduct deep keyword and intent research across flights, hotels, destinations, and travel inspiration.
- Build and maintain a content roadmap including destination pages, comparisons, alternatives, FAQs, and product-led SEO pages.
- Partner with content and creative teams to deliver SEO-first, brand-aligned content.
On-Page & Technical SEO
- Optimize meta tags, headers, internal linking, and page structure.
- Implement and maintain schema markup (FAQ, How To, Product, Organization, etc.).
- Conduct regular technical SEO audits covering crawlability, indexing, Core Web Vitals, site architecture, canonicals, redirects, and sitemaps.
- Collaborate with developers to resolve technical issues impacting search and AI visibility.
AEO, GEO & LLM Optimization
- Build and scale AEO strategies to win featured snippets, People Also Ask, and AI-generated answers.
- Optimize content for generative search platforms (Google SGE, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, etc.).
- Analyze AI-generated responses to identify ranking, citation, and visibility gaps.
- Develop entity-rich, answer-first, model-friendly content aligned with LLM learning patterns.
- Improve inclusion and brand presence in AI-generated summaries and responses.
Performance, Analysis & Reporting
- Track and analyze performance using Google Analytics, Search Console, SEMrush (or similar tools).
- Build dashboards and provide actionable insights on SEO, AEO, GEO, and LLMO performance.
- Refresh and optimize existing content, prune low-value pages, and continuously improve CTR and engagement.
- Monitor competitors to identify gaps and opportunities.
Collaboration
- Work closely with SEO and product team, content writers, developers, digital marketing, and social teams to deliver integrated campaigns.
- Share insights, documentation, and best practices across teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on SEO experience, preferably in travel, hospitality, eCommerce, or large-scale consumer platforms.
- At least 6 months of practical experience in AEO, GEO, LLMO, or AI search optimization.
- Strong understanding of SEO fundamentals, ranking factors, and algorithm updates.
- Experience with structured data, schema, and international/global SEO strategy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret AI-generated outputs.
- Proficiency in SEO and analytics tools (GSC, GA, SEMrush, Moz, etc.).
- Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Self-starter mindset with strong ownership and execution capability.
Nice To Have (Big Plus)
- Experience with product-led SEO, programmatic SEO, comparison and alternatives pages.
- Exposure to backlinking/guest post strategies, digital PR, or authority-building initiatives.
- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern web frameworks.
- Experience with local SEO and structured data for location-based content.
- Passion for travel and strong understanding of hospitality user intent.
