We are looking for an exceptional Despatch Coordinator to join our talented team based in Highbrook, thriving in a culture of openness, trust, and mutual respect.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
In this role, you will:
- Coordinate inbound freight arrivals for Metro operations.
- Quality-check freight stock, including LCL and inbound cartons.
- Coordinate outbound freight for delivery across the North and South Islands.
- Ensure goods prepared for despatch are well packed, protected, labelled, and ticketed correctly.
- Accurately complete all computer tasks and documentation as required.
- Safely and effectively operate hoist machines, including short and double-length forks.
- Communicate daily with carriers to ensure all freight is despatched.
- Communicate daily with shift managers to ensure smooth operation and issue resolution.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
We’re looking for someone with:
- A current fork hoist counterbalance licence.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Strong administration skills and accuracy in documentation.
- Solid knowledge of Health & Safety practices.
- Experience using TMS and MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- A strong understanding of transport and loading processes.
- Knowledge of the greater Auckland region, including vehicle sizes and weight restrictions.
- Experience coordinating staff and understanding unit types and limits.
- Understanding of DG by road and sea legislation.
- At least 5 years’ transport experience.
- A Class 2, 4, or 5 licence (advantageous but not essential).
