We are seeking a Temporary Fixed Term (12 months) Finance Officer to join the Australian Finance Department in Sydney.
About the role
The position is responsible for month-end close, annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting, maintenance of general ledgers.
Key duties
The role looks after (but is not limited to) the following key areas:
· Review, monitoring and submission of monthly accruals
· Monitoring of suspense accounts to ensure timely follow-up and clearing
· Manage, monitor and report outsourced vendor’s performance
· Review and compilation of operating budgets submission
· Prepare monthly actuals vs budget variance analysis
· Preparation and compilation of quarterly budget control statement
· Review and timely submission of quarter end packages to HO
· Assist with GL and accrual related queries from other departments in Australia
· Perform back-up duties for BSP billings, AR/AP and Cargo matters
· Ensure compliance with SIA Finance procedures
· Carry out any additional assignments and back-up duties as directed by Senior Accountant
Required knowledge, skills & experience
· Relevant experience and sound knowledge of process in General Ledger functions
· Good understanding of basic accounting principles
· Relevant experience with SAP accounting system
· High degree of accuracy and attention to details
· Good time management and organisation skills
· Sound written and verbal communication skills
· Good computer skills and competent with Microsoft Office products
· Ability to work as a team
This is a full-time temporary (12 months fixed term) position. All candidates must be eligible to work in Australia during the contract period. The position has a salary range of $65,855 - $80,409 inclusive of superannuation. The starting salary may be adjusted to commensurate with experience.
