Drive legal strategies for HTS’ India operations aligned with HTCS’s global roadmap. Head of legal for India operations which has major presence in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Gurugram and Madurai
Responsibilities
- Lead a diversified team of lawyers and work closely with IP specialists to drive organic growth for Honeywell through in-house and open innovation approaches.
- As a key member of HTCS’ India leadership team, play pro-active role in developing strategy, deploying business plans and supporting all business requirements across globe.
- While support SBG’s IP initiatives and practices, drive cross SBG IP processes and best practices to drive optimal value from the innovations from HTS. Strategize and drive IP model and practices required for local for local business (E4E, MMS), in alignment with HON Global IP team.
- Identify and interpret changing laws and create viable business models for HON. Make quick decision in unclear environment.
- Establish and manage framework to enable engagement with third parties and drive intelligent risk taking within HTS. Enable HTS engineers to develop business acumen and appropriately interacting with third parties in commercial discussions, participating in bids and negotiations.
- Lead and manage NPI contracts and legal documentation for a broad range of commercial transactions incl. university collaborations, technical collaboration with government bodies and other commercial players, intellectual property licensing agreements, supply agreements - out-sourcing of services and works, non-disclosure agreements, consultancy agreements, testing and certification agreements etc.
- Drive integrity and compliance programme, partnering with the HON’s I&C function and Law Department. Oversee and implement the program across HTS.
- Develop standardized processes incorporating best practices from the industry for right and fast delivery of legal services to business.
- Advise HTS leadership on a range of legal and regulatory issues
Qualifications
- Law degree (J.D. or equivalent) from a leading university and/or law school.
- Licensed to practice law in India, or the U.S. or other common law jurisdiction.
- Minimum ~10-12 years of post-qualification experience.
- Familiarity with new age technologies and related regulatory issues, exposure in engineering / R&D sector and ability to understanding cutting edge engineering problem statements and then translate these into legal parlance and provide solutions to business.
- The successful candidate must be inquisitive, enthusiastic about technology, enjoy working hard and being continually challenged, and demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations.
- Solid in corporate governance and corporate laws
