Johnson Service Group is looking for a n AOI Inspector with 1-3 years’ experience. This is a Temp job in the Chatsworth, CA area.
Salary: $25.00 HRJob Summary:The AOI Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) machines used in the inspection of SMT-assembled PCBs and flex boards. The role ensures product quality by detecting soldering defects, component placement errors, and other manufacturing faults in compliance with company and customer standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor AOI machines during SMT production.
- Inspect PCB and flex board assemblies for defects such as:
- Solder bridges
- Missing components
- Misalignment
- Tombstoning
- Insufficient/excess solder
- Review and verify AOI defects to reduce false calls.
- Perform basic programming adjustments and model setup for new products.
- Support first article inspection (FAI) and process validation.
- Work closely with SMT line technicians and quality teams to resolve defects.
- Maintain inspection records and prepare quality reports.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of AOI equipment.
- Follow ESD, IPC, and company quality standards.
Required Qualifications:
- Diploma or Technical Certification in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- 1–3 years experience in SMT manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience operating AOI machines.
- Knowledge of PCB assembly and flex board handling.
- Understanding of SMT components and soldering defects.
- Familiarity with IPC standards (IPC-A-610 preferred).
- Basic computer skills for reporting and machine operation.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with AOI brands such as Omron, Koh Young, or Mirtec.
- Ability to read PCB drawings and assembly documentation.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Problem-solving ability.
Working Conditions:
- Manufacturing/production floor environment.
- Standing for extended periods.
- Rotational shifts (if applicable).
