Tasks
What will you be responsible for?
- As a CNC Machine Operator, you will set up, program, and operate CNC machines to manufacture and repair high-precision aircraft landing gear components supporting MRO activities.
- You will interpret engineering drawings, perform machining operations, monitor machine performance, and carry out in-process and final inspections using precision measuring equipment.
- The role requires strict adherence to aviation quality and regulatory standards (including EASA/FAA where applicable), ensuring full traceability and documentation.
- You will troubleshoot issues, maintain your PER book, meet production deadlines, and uphold safety and environmental procedures at all times.
Requirements
What you’ll need?
- GCSE level education or equivalent
- Fluent written and spoken English
- Basic CNC programming knowledge
- Experience with CNC lathes, engine lathes & vertical milling machines
- Familiarity with FANUC controls preferred
- Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling & shop mathematics
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Experience aligning and securing workpieces independently
- Aerospace experience desirable
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Team player with good communication skills
- Organised, self-motivated and able to meet deadlines
