Key Responsibilities
- Plan, direct, and coordinate all IT project activities to achieve project objectives within established timelines and budget constraints.
- Develop and implement standardized project management practices, ensuring compliance across all project phases.
- Review project proposals to assess timelines, funding limitations, and procedural requirements, negotiating staffing needs for various project stages.
- Coach, mentor, and motivate project team members and subcontractors, fostering accountability and positive action in their roles.
- Provide strategic guidance on project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid) based on project requirements and organizational context, securing approval and funding from governance bodies.
- Collaborate with the IT Practice Manager to enhance project management practices across all IT initiatives.
- Leverage project planning and management techniques to gain a competitive advantage for the organization.
- Partner with Portfolio Solution Managers, Business Solution Leads, and Infrastructure Managers to drive innovation and align IT solutions with business objectives.
- Collaborate with the Enterprise Testing team to establish quality assurance testing plans that comply with company standards.
- Stay informed about emerging technologies and project management trends, proactively communicating their relevance to enhance IT capabilities and meet business needs.
Requirements
- A minimum of 6 years of IT experience, with at least 3 years in a project management role. PMP certification is mandatory.
- Proven consulting experience in project management across complex, multi-system environments.
- Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in a relevant field are essential.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Strong knowledge of project and programme delivery, portfolio management, change management, infrastructure development, vendor management, and financial management.
- Familiarity with hardware and system software, along with experience in package implementation and vendor collaboration, is advantageous.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly and effectively. Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making within a dynamic project environment.
- Ability to foster a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing among project delivery teams.
- Experience working with agile delivery frameworks such as Scrum or Kanban, including experience of tailoring working practices and planning approaches to suit project and programme requirements.
