Role Introduction
Reports to: Digital Workplace Manager
The Digital Workplace Experience Senior Lead is responsible for delivering a user-centric digital workplace that enables employees at Cathay to work efficiently, confidently, and collaboratively. The role focuses on understanding business needs and employee pain points, and translating these insights into clear, actionable requirements for digital workplace team.
Acting as a trusted bridge between employees, business stakeholders, and technology teams, the Digital Workplace Experience Senior Lead fosters strong collaboration to ensure digital workplace solutions are well designed, effectively communicated, and successfully adopted. Through proactive engagement, continuous feedback, and partnership, the role enhances user experience, strengthens ways of working, and contributes to higher productivity, positive employee experience, and a collaborative digital culture across Cathay.
Key Responsibilities
People
- Act as the primary advocate for employees in shaping the digital workplace experience, ensuring solutions are intuitive, inclusive, and support effective ways of working
- Engage regularly with employees and business stakeholders to understand needs, gather feedback, and identify user pain points and improvement opportunities
- Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships across the organisation, fostering collaboration between employees, business units, and technology teams
- Support change management, communications, and adoption activities to ensure employees are well informed, supported, and confident in using digital workplace solutions
Process
- Establish structured approaches to capturing user feedback, documenting requirements, and prioritising digital workplace enhancements; and translate business and user needs into clear, actionable requirements and user stories for technical and delivery teams
- Support the planning and execution of digital workplace initiatives, ensuring changes are aligned with business priorities and delivered with minimal disruption
- Monitor adoption, user satisfaction, and experience metrics, using insights to drive continuous improvement of digital workplace services.
Technology
- Partner closely with backend and technical teams to ensure digital workplace solutions are designed and delivered with a strong user-experience focus
- Provide user experience input across the lifecycle of digital workplace tools, from ideation and design through to rollout and optimisation
- Support the promotion and successful adoption of new and enhanced digital workplace technologies that improve productivity and collaboration; and ensure digital workplace solutions are fit for purpose, scalable, and aligned with Cathay’s technology standards and future roadmap
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in Information System, Communication, Public Relations or related discipline
- 8+ years’ relevant experience in sales, communications or public relations role
- Proven experience in digital workplace, user experience, IT, or a related role within a complex organisation
- Proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese (Putonghua & Cantonese)
- Professional, passionate, innovative, self-motivated and able to present solutions to diverse groups of stakeholders; and strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and align diverse groups without direct authority
- Demonstrated experience working with diverse business stakeholders to understand needs, manage expectations, and deliver user‑focused outcomes
- Experience supporting the rollout and adoption of digital workplace solutions, including change communication and user engagement activities
- Exposure to working in cross‑functional environments, partnering closely with technical, backend, and delivery teams
- A strong user-centric mindset, with the ability to identify real needs and translate them into meaningful improvements; and strong attention to detail and an ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing demands in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to travel to Chinese Mainland
