How You'll Help Us Keep Climbing (Overview & Key Responsibilities)
The Graduate Intern, Flight Safety Investigations responsibilities include providing support to the Flight Safety Accident/Incident Investigation Team, Flight Operational Quality Assurance (FOQA), and Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP). The data collected through these programs supports Delta's Safety Management System (SMS), which is a cornerstone of Delta's proactive accident and incident prevention system to track, trend and resolve aviation hazards. This position will include exposure to the full investigative process, in which a successful candidate will be responsible for collecting factual data, such as damage data, injury information, meteorological conditions, crew background, human performance data, flight recorder data, and other relevant investigative data.
What You Need To Succeed (Minimum Qualifications)
- Qualified candidate must be enrolled as a current/active student in an accredited graduate program at a college and/or university
- Candidate must be willing to commit to the duration of the internship which may last up to 12 months or longer
- Currently in possession of a valid passport and able to travel for company business up to 20%
- Must be able to work onsite in our Atlanta, GA office for the duration of the internship
- Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data
- Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles
- Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency
- Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States

- Degree includes a specialization in Aviation
- Flight experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Outlook
