We are looking for a dedicated Rostering Officer to join our Crew Optimisation, Roster Planning, and Delivery teams, playing a pivotal role in producing and managing crew rosters from their initial construction through to handover to the ICC Crewing team. This position is responsible for ensuring rosters are published on time, adhering to all safety, cost, legal, and quality measures, while maintaining compliance with industrial agreements. The Rostering Officer will deliver and maintain crew roster activities, identifying and correcting anomalies both before and after roster optimisation, with close attention to factors such as fatigue metrics, duty distribution, block hours, and compliance with country-specific agreements.
In this role, you will utilise optimisation software to produce and manage monthly rosters for pilots and cabin crew, ensuring these are maintained post-publication and rectifying any violations before publication. You will manage daily availability software, respond to crew and base management concerns, and ensure smooth roster adjustments while balancing operational needs and regulatory requirements. This includes re-crewing uncovered flights, maintaining standby coverage, and managing roster change requests with sensitivity and operational awareness. The Rostering Officer will also work to enhance roster quality continuously and support related tasks, such as hotel and travel arrangements when required. You will actively contribute to the improvement of processes, meet regulatory compliance standards, and support the Senior Rostering Officers and Crew Planning management team on various projects and tasks.
What You Need To Do This Role
The ideal candidate will bring at least two years of experience in planning and building rosters within a complex department of 200+ individuals, using advanced optimisation or AI software. Proficiency in Excel and data management is essential, including expertise in advanced Excel, data analysis, and tools like Databricks. A good understanding of Python or similar optimisation tools is highly desirable. We also offer opportunities for further training, such as a Level 4 Data Analyst apprenticeship so your learning path never sits still.
You will be a collaborative team player with a positive, constructive approach to improving roster quality, supported by operational insights and data. A keen analytical mindset, strong customer focus, and the ability to deliver exceptional service are critical, as is the capacity to manage multiple complex tasks and shifting priorities. Familiarity with crew compliance regulations, including Fatigue Risk Management and FTL schemes, is vital, alongside the ability to interpret schedules, identify impacts on crew rosters, and independently devise effective solutions.
