This role will serve as Lead on commercial nuclear plant mod design projects; will provide oversight and technical direction to a small group of nuclear Mechanical Design Mod Engineers; establish work scope and direct/coordinate work of assigned staff.

- BS in Mechanical Engineering.
- 10+ years of progressively responsible commercial nuclear mechanical design mod engineering experience.
- 2+ years in a leadership role, directing design mod engineers.
- Demonstrated ability to initiate a task, develop a plan of action, and persistently follow through to completion.
- Capable of developing plans to deal with the unexpected and evaluating alternate solutions.
- Have a sense of urgency about getting results and consistently produces high quality work.
- Be an effective communicator and be comfortable in dealing with people at all levels.
- Show confidence in making technical and business decisions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Prior experience in consulting engineering environment is highly desirable.
- Professional Engineering License preferred, not required.
Responsibilities:
- First level of management; supervises small groups of engineers at various levels of expertise.
- Establish scope of work for project or proposal, allocates and directs staff as a lead for the project.
- Advise on the development of new engineering methods and participates in short and long-range planning.
- Provide technical leadership to teams of professional and non-professional staff.
- Supervise complex engineering tasks related to a portion of a major project.
- Given a typical or complex problem, will breakdown the tasks to provide the solution and define the appropriate deliverables that the client will need to resolve the issue.
- Exercise mature business judgement in devising practical, economical solutions.
- Engage customer in detailed technical discussions regarding ID and acquisition of design inputs, task scopes and methodology / approach.Â
- Effectively discuss project results with customer and potential subsequent additions to contract to support applicable scope adders.Â
- Able to provide detailed technical guidance and direction for lower level Engineers
- Communicate effectively with all levels of staff within the organization and client base.
- Direct/coordinate work of assigned staff.
- Demonstrate ability to perform review of complex calculations, design deliverables.
- Monitor and evaluate staff performance.
- Recommend training and development for junior staff
- Actions and decisions typically have a significant influence on the medium-term technical, operational and financial results of a business group or function.
