The role:
We are seeking an Internal Communications Executive Plan to deliver and measure communication campaigns, content and events.
What you’ll do:
- Communication plans, content and events to highlight the business’ strategy, purpose, values and behaviours, through corporate and directorate campaigns, business as usual communication and change programmes
- Support the delivery of communication and engagement activity using the full range of internal channels: digital, social and traditional
- Develop and commission engaging content that supports the employee value proposition and our business strategy
- Using your own initiative, you will come up with creative ideas and content as well as new ways to deliver this to have maximum effect
- Evaluate and track the effectiveness of communication and engagement activity
- Manage and support the delivery of colleague events
- Oversee and moderate communications activity on internal channels, ensure careful targeting and good housekeeping and work in ‘real time’ to ensure colleague questions and concerns are responded to, actioned or forwarded to colleagues accordingly across all channels, including email
- Deliver timely, relevant, appropriate content to boost employee engagement
- Acting as a role model, championing User Generated Content Promoting a culture of co-creation and colleague involvement and calling out inappropriate behaviour from colleagues
- Work as part of the crisis communication team and out-of-hours on-call roster
- Participation in the Customer Support Scheme, which involves occasionally working in a frontline customer-facing role (training will be provided)
What you’ll bring to British Airways:
- Writing, editing and publishing content to various audiences
- Ability to present work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced operational environment
- Understanding of good communication and engagement practice and tactical expertise to help change the internal culture
- Ability to use data and insight to evaluate and report on the impact of content as a driver of colleague engagement/NPS
- Familiar with Microsoft O365, Teams and internet software
- Ability to work confidently across all communication channels – online, offline, digital and social
Your experience:
- Excellent English language skills, preferably evidenced through a relevant qualification
- Previous experience in an internal communications role (desirable)
- Previous experience as a writer, editor or broadcaster across a variety of platforms, including social media
- Experience of working in matrixed organisations
- Involvement in change management (desirable)
- Evidence of having built strong relationships
- Evidence of having strong expertise in developing and delivering high impact content across variety of channels
