JSG is looking for a Water Resource Assistant for one of our clients in San Jose. Under the supervision of the Program Administrator, the Water Resource Specialist supports the development, testing, and implementation of the SMP3 application and the Sediment Management Program (SMP).
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft system requirements and develop test plans for the SMP3 application
- Assist in creating and maintaining SOPs for the SMP database and subsystems
- Support SMP program activities, including preparation of the annual Notice of Proposed Work (NPW) and Annual Summary Report (ASR)
- Coordinate water quality monitoring and sediment testing, reuse, and disposal efforts
- Assist with SMP database administration and Maximo integration
- Maintain and manage SMP program data
- Collaborate with technical teams to improve database efficiency and program effectiveness
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in water resources management, natural resources management, planning, engineering, geology, physical or earth sciences, or related field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of state and federal environmental laws and regulations
- Analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present technical data
- Proficiency in GIS and familiarity with databases and cloud applications preferred
- Valid California Driver’s License
$44.62/hr. contract
