Overview
The CASS Manager is responsible for managing and maintaining the Continuing Analysis and Surveillance System (CASS) in accordance with 14 CFR Part 121. This role ensures the effectiveness of the maintenance program by analyzing operational and maintenance data, identifying trends, and driving corrective actions through a closed-loop process.
The position works closely with Quality Assurance, Engineering, Maintenance, and Safety to support regulatory compliance and continuous improvement of the airline’s maintenance program.
Essential Functions And Responsibilities
Area
Core Duties
CASS Program Management
- Manage and maintain the CASS program in compliance with 14 CFR 121.373.
- Ensure the CASS process remains effective and up to date.
Data Analysis & Surveillance
- Collect and analyze data from audits, reliability programs, maintenance discrepancies, and operational performance.
- Identify trends, systemic issues, and emerging risks.
Corrective Action Tracking
- Support root cause analysis for identified issues.
- Track corrective actions through closure and verify effectiveness.
- Maintain the CASS action item list.
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with FAA regulations, company GMM, and approved maintenance programs.
- Support internal and external audits.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Coordinate with QA, Engineering, Maintenance, and Safety to ensure proper data flow and issue resolution.
- Communicate findings and required actions across departments.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare and present CASS reports and summaries to leadership.
- Maintain accurate records of analyses, findings, and corrective actions.
Skills And Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in aviation, engineering, or related field (preferred, not required)
- 5+ years of experience in aviation maintenance, quality, or reliability (Part 121 preferred)
- Working knowledge of 14 CFR Part 121 regulations, including CASS requirements
- Experience with CASS, SMS, or reliability programs preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with maintenance tracking systems (e.g., TRAX or similar)
- Effective communication and report-writing skills
- Ability to work across departments and manage multiple priorities
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee primarily works in an office environment with standard office equipment. The role may occasionally require visits to maintenance facilities, aircraft, or operational areas, where exposure to moderate noise levels, moving mechanical parts, or varying weather conditions may occur. The overall noise level in the primary work environment is typically low to moderate.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Travel
This position requires up to 10 percent travel, including weekends and holidays, overnight travel is expected. Responsible for AOG events and approvals in the United States. Must have a clean driving record.
