Main Duties and Responsibilities:
The role of the Trainee Finance Assistant will be to support the team to ensure it meets its objectives on a weekly, monthly, annual basis.
The Trainee will spend time in each of the core areas of finance (Sales ledger, credit control, purchase ledger, management accounts, payroll) and develop an understanding of what each function does and how it integrates into the wider multi-currency Group.
The Trainee will also be expected to commit their own time to the study of AAT courses and pass all relevant exams, this is critical to the successful completion of the training program.
In addition to the functions detailed, employees are required to carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required (e.g. support the GFC as and when requested). In addition, key objectives and targets will be set/established and agreed on appointment.
Qualifications:
Further/Higher education or relevant experience, Accounting/Business relevance preferable
GCSE’s including English Language and Maths grade C or above
Studying towards AAT qualification (Already hold Level 2 or above)
Experience & Skills Required:
Experience of using Microsoft products especially Excel
An appreciation of different currencies and how this may affect processing
Professional verbal and written communication skills
Ability to prioritise workloads, handle conflicting workloads and multitask
PARTICULAR APTITUDE REQUIRED:
Self-motivated with a “can do” attitude
Willing to develop and be developed within the wider finance team, a proper team player
Willing to learn from the team and be confident to suggest improvements constructively
Travel will be minimal but if required candidate should be willing
