Position Summary
Responsible for the effective planning, coordination, and optimization of manpower resources to support all aircraft maintenance activities. This role ensures the timely availability and deployment of both internal and vendor-supplied personnel across production bays, aligning manpower allocation with operational requirements and check schedules. The Foreman works closely with Project Managers, Foremen, and the Training Department to manage rosters, track certifications, coordinate training, and maintain accurate personnel records. In addition, the role supports audit and compliance efforts, monitors manpower efficiency, and drives continuous improvements in workforce utilization to meet turnaround time (TAT) and productivity targets within Base Maintenance.
Key Accountabilities
- Plan and arrange weekly manpower roster for Base Maintenance operations to ensure sufficient coverage of all scheduled aircraft checks and support activities.
- Coordinate daily manpower distribution across production bays and special assignments, including adjustments based on operational demands, leave, and absenteeism.
- Liaise with Project Managers and Foremen to forecast manpower needs in alignment with aircraft check schedules, task cards, and turnaround time (TAT) targets.
- Manage and track contract staff deployment, including vendor-supplied manpower, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and monitoring daily attendance and performance.
- Nominate and schedule training for maintenance personnel in coordination with the Training Department, ensuring certifications and competencies are up to date.
- Maintain updated manpower records, including roster, leave planning, overtime monitoring, and skill qualifications of all personnel under Base Maintenance.
- Coordinate onboarding and induction of new staff, including outsourced personnel, and ensure completion of all required training within the stipulated timeline.
- Evaluate manpower efficiency and utilization, identifying gaps or over-resourcing, and propose optimization measures to improve productivity and reduce costs.
- Support audit and compliance activities, ensuring manpower planning documentation, training records, and vendor staff information are readily available and accurate.
- Provide periodic reports to management, including manpower availability, vendor staff status, training progress, and any challenges in manpower deployment.
Qualifications / Areas of Experience
- Minimum Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance or equivalent.
- Preferably holds CAAM License Category B.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in an aircraft maintenance environment, with a strong understanding of operational and regulatory requirements.
- Proven leadership experience of at least 3 years, preferably in a supervisory or foreman role within Base Maintenance.
- Project management and aircraft check management experience is highly desirable, along with demonstrated competency in manpower planning and coordination across multi-shift operations
