Basic Qualifications
To be effective, you will need to possess these basic qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field, OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in event planning, protocol, corporate hospitality, or a closely related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating logistics for multi-stakeholder events (50+ attendees), including vendor and venue management.
- Proficiency in event management tools and standard business software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Cvent, Airtable, or equivalent platforms).
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact professionally with senior executives and external customers.
- Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, and weekends in support of event operations.
- You will need to be a US Citizen, and be able to obtain and maintain a US TOP SECRET clearance, to support this government contract, as well as successfully pass a drug and background check, in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

What does this role look like?
➥ The Protocol & Events Representative (IC-2) supports a high-performing team that simultaneously executes multiple critical customer and employee engagements—including facility visits and large-scale ceremonies.
➥ Operating within Lockheed Martin Space, this representative works with personnel at all levels of the Corporation while directly enabling growth across the Space business area.

In this role you will have the following daily key responsibilities:
➥ Assist senior team members in planning and executing complex, high-visibility engagements such as executive facility visits, customer receptions, and large ceremonies.
➥ Develop and manage event production schedules, detailed agendas, and run-of-show documents that ensure flawless execution from planning through close-out.
➥ Coordinate end-to-end logistics including hotel room blocks, ground transportation, catering, audio-visual, venue setup, and event signage.
➥ Serve as a liaison to key internal and external stakeholders, communicating clearly and professionally with personnel at all organizational levels.
➥ Advise on protocol standards, honors and courtesies, and compliance requirements relevant to domestic and international engagements.
➥ Manage vendor relationships including contract review, performance oversight, and invoice reconciliation in accordance with Lockheed Martin procurement policies.
➥ Develop staffing plans that ensure appropriate coverage and role clarity across the event team.
➥ Build and track event budgets; process purchase orders and expense reports accurately and on time.
➥ Produce post-event after-action reports that capture key outcomes, attendance data, lessons learned, and recommendations for continuous improvement.
➥ Operate in-place processes and team frameworks to support early morning, evening, and weekend event execution as operationally required.
This position does not support teleworking; the preferred candidate will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility one of the Coolest places to work: Denver, Colorado , and be expected to work in the office.
Desired Skills
To be effective, ideally, you should also have:
- Experience supporting protocol or events in a defense, government, or aerospace environment.
- Familiarity with U.S. military and government honors and courtesies, diplomatic protocol, and VIP visit management.
- Experience coordinating international engagements, including cross-cultural protocol considerations and international travel logistics.
- Working knowledge of budget management principles, including purchase order processes and expense reconciliation.
- Experience developing staffing plans and coordinating volunteers or event support personnel.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a small, high-performing team and adapt to shifting priorities.
- Exposure to customer relationship management or corporate hospitality programs.
- Possess effective relationship-building skills with peers, leadership and suppliers
- You bring positivity and enthusiasm to every project you touch. In addition to the work, you love being part of a team and working collaboratively through the process.
- Demonstrated exceptional strategic communication skills, including written (for drafting briefing materials, stakeholder correspondence, and after-action reports), verbal, and presentation, to effectively communicate business cases to all levels of peers, suppliers, and stakeholders, as well as program executives, with an ability to persuade and motivate action.
- Active current security clearance.
