Required Skills
- Advanced expertise designing and delivering end ‑ to ‑ end BW and SAP BusinessObjects reporting solutions
- Deep knowledge of SAP BW on HANA architecture, including
- Advanced DSOs
- Composite Providers
- Open ODS Views
- Expert-level skills in BEx Query Designer, including:
- Complex calculated and restricted key figures
- Query variable dependencies and replacement paths
- Exception and condition logic
- Performance tuning techniques
- Strong experience designing and optimizing SAP BusinessObjects WebI reports, including:
- Multi-query reports consuming BW data
- Advanced report variables and calculations
- Prompt design and user-driven filtering strategies
- Proven ability to improve report performance and usability across BW and WebI layers
- Strong understanding of BW and BOBJ security, including:
- Object orientated Security Authorizations in SAP BW using RSECADMIN
- Experience troubleshooting process chains, data loads, and reporting failures impacting WebI and BW users
- Ability to partner with business, functional, and technical teams to define reporting strategies
- Ownership of production reporting solutions and root-cause analysis for complex issues
Preferred / Advanced Skills
- BW modeling with User exits, ABAP Classes and OOABAP
- BW Transformation Routines and Formulas
- ODP / SAPI framework CDS based delta extraction
- BW on HANA to BW/4HANA upgrade / migration experience
- Experience designing or maintaining SAP BusinessObjects Universes (BW or relational)
- Familiarity with BOBJ platform administration concepts, including:
- CMC configuration
- Scheduling and publications
- Experience leading BOBJ or BW reporting standardization efforts
- Exposure to BW/4HANA or reporting modernization initiatives
- Experience migrating or decommissioning legacy BOBJ reports
- Ability to mentor junior BW/BOBJ developers and act as a technical escalation point
- Experience integrating BW data with external analytics platforms (e.g., Power BI)
Education And Experience Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or relevant curriculum required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 6 years relevant business/technical experience to include three (3) years specific reporting, data analytics, or related technical development/deployment experience. Master's Degree may be used to offset one (1) year of experience; PhD may offset two (2) years of experience.
Position Purpose:This is a data and analytics development role within the Gulfstream Business Technology organization for the Enterprise Reporting team. This role directly supports the suite of Gulfstream Enterprise Reporting applications. Responsible for developing requirements, solution development, testing, deployment, and support of enterprise reporting solutions.
Job Description
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:Essential Functions:
- Engages stakeholders and technology users in identifying, analyzing, and documenting business requirements.
- Ensures applications processes are followed consistently and are in compliance with applicable policies, procedures, standards, etc.
- Performs normal administration tasks and system maintenance for reporting and data analytics applications and solutions.
- Documents, develops, tests, deploys, and supports reporting and data analytics development using a variety of technical tools in support of business requirements.
Additional Functions:
- Conducts briefings and participates in technical meetings concerning specific projects or other activities. .
Perform other duties as assigned.Other Requirements:
- Experience with Agile development methodology and working on an agile team preferred.
- Demonstrated understanding of software development lifecycle methodologies (SDLC).
- Experience in conducting testing including design and execution of test cases.
- Demonstrated capability to understand data structures and create effective visualizations and reports that drive business insight and value.
- Excellent presentation design and delivery skills.
- Ability to lead/facilitate cross-functional teams and meetings.
