Johnson Service Group (JSG) is partnering with a leading engineering organization in Lisle, IL to hire an Electrical Test Technician. This role supports a global engineering team and involves hands on electrical and environmental testing throughout the product development cycle.
Responsibilities
- Review and interpret test plans to evaluate performance and reliability of electronic components, connector systems, and materials under electrical and environmental conditions
- Perform electrical and environmental testing in accordance with industry, customer, and internal specifications
- Conduct tests such as:
- Low Level Contact Resistance (LLCR)
- Voltage Drop
- Temperature Rise / Current Rating
- Insulation Resistance / Dielectric Withstanding Voltage
- USB Charger Module Functional Testing
- Dust & Water Ingress
- Analyze test results and complete product performance evaluations using statistical methods
- Troubleshoot issues and support root cause failure analysis
- Collaborate with project leaders to ensure timely and accurate test deliverables
- Maintain accurate documentation and test records
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree in Electronic Engineering Technology, Engineering Science, or equivalent experience in a related laboratory environment
- 1+ years of hands on experience in an electrical or environmental test lab
- Proficiency with electrical test equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, multimeters, data acquisition systems, etc.)
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills
- Ability to manage workload and meet project deadlines
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including working with global teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in an automotive validation or environmental testing laboratory
- Familiarity with environmental chamber testing
- Knowledge of contact physics
- Experience testing electronic solutions (USB charger modules, wireless power modules, solid state relays, etc.)
- Background in testing electrical interconnect systems, including data analysis and troubleshooting
Pay rate: 32/hour-$35/hour
