Our client is seeking an intermediate Drafting Technologist III to produce, update, and maintain accurate technical drawings for pipeline and facility assets across multiple engineering disciplines.
Must Have skills
- Minimum 5+ years of drafting experience in the oil and gas industry.
- Strong proficiency with AutoCAD.
- Demonstrated experience working across mechanical, piping, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines.
- Experience developing and updating P&IDs, plot plans, facility layouts, and equipment drawings.
- Ability to interpret field redlines, site photos, as-built information, and project documentation.
- Strong understanding of drawing control, revision history, and documentation management throughout the project lifecycle.
Nice to Have skills
- Experience using LPDMS or similar drawing/document management systems.
- Familiarity with pipeline and facility operations.
- Knowledge of instrumentation, control systems, and tagging conventions.
Responsibilities
- Develop, update, and maintain engineering drawings across mechanical, piping, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines.
- Translate engineering concepts, project deliverables, and field inputs into accurate CAD drawings.
- Review and incorporate site markups, field redlines, photos, and as-built information into final deliverables.
- Ensure drawings comply with applicable drafting standards and industry practices.
- Support the preparation of Issued for Construction and As-Built drawing packages.
- Maintain drawing control, revision history, and technical documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, field teams, operations teams, and external service providers to confirm design intent and deliverables.
- Support multiple pipeline and facility projects in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Identify and resolve drawing discrepancies using independent judgment when input data is incomplete or evolving.
- Contribute to the accuracy of process safety information and the quality of project execution.
