The Customer Engagement and Loyalty (CE&L) organization at Delta works to better understand and deepen our relationship with customers by offering them new ways to engage with the SkyMiles program and the Delta brand. Our focus is on a richer experience for our Members that adds utility to their miles and ways to leverage their Delta loyalty into an elevated travel experience both onboard and beyond the flight. Our large breadth of loyalty products helps Delta Air Lines to diversify its commercial strategies, expanding high-margin revenue streams that support profit growth, and make the airline more durable.
The Co-op will support Product Development for one or more of the portfolios within the broader CE&L team: SkyMiles program, Delta American Express Cobranded credit card, Delta Sky Clubs, Partnerships, Delta Gift Card, and Delta Travel Products.
Overall function and role
As part of the Loyalty Products team, this individual will partner with Loyalty portfolio teams and other teams across the enterprise to shape and deliver new products, features, and benefits. Candidate must have a detail-oriented, adaptable, and collaborative approach and spirit.
Responsibilities
Feature Development & Roadmap Execution
- Define and maintain a product roadmap based on business value, effort sizing, and interdependencies.
- Write clear, concise user stories and acceptance criteria in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Participate in backlog refinement sessions to ensure alignment on priorities and readiness for development.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Coordinate with other Product Owners to ensure alignment across domains and initiatives.
- Balance policy, process, and technology considerations to drive effective product development.
- Partner with UX teams to apply design thinking techniques such as user stories, wireframes, and prototypes.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Maintain strong communication with stakeholders to share progress, gather feedback, and align on outcomes.
- Collaborate with Product Owners to support the broader product vision and strategy through data-driven insights and iterative development.
Agile Leadership
- Champion agile best practices within the squad and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Leverage tools such as Agility and Aha! for project tracking and backlog management, ensuring data accuracy and transparency.
- Actively participate in Delta’s Product Owner Community of Practice to share knowledge and grow as a practitioner.
What You Need To Succeed (Minimum Qualifications)
- Must be enrolled as a full-time student pursuing an undergraduate degree in a 4-year academic institution.
- At least a 3.0 GPA on a 4-point scale.
- Must be available to work on a full-time basis for 3 alternating semesters: Fall 2026, Summer 2027, and Spring 2028.
- Must be able to work onsite in our Atlanta, GA office for the duration of the Co-op.
- Self-motivated, eager to accept responsibility and learn new tools and processes.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Must demonstrate the ability to work on multiple assignments with strict deadlines and function effectively under pressure.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving skills, and verbal/written communication skills are essential.
- Excellent attention to detail and exercise confidentiality of protected information.
- Candidate is team-oriented and highly supportive of continuous improvement methodologies.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
- This position requires the student to work for 3 alternating semesters. Student cannot actively take any courses (inclusive of online or in-person) and work as a Co-op/Intern at the same time, which may delay graduation by 1-2 semesters.
- Working as a Co-op/Intern does not guarantee a full-time opportunity at Delta Air Lines upon graduation. This position is intended to provide educational and professional work experience to prepare the student for the workforce.

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
- Preferred majors in Engineering, Computer Systems, Aviation or Aeronautical Science/Management/Operations, or Information Systems.
- Completed/in-progress coursework or hands-on experience in emerging AI capabilities (e.g., agentic AI, generative AI and data-driven insights) to support product innovation, user experience design, and decision-making.
- A successful candidate should be highly motivated with the desire to learn and have a passion for loyalty and digital marketing initiatives.
- Passion for aviation or a keen interest in learning and contributing to the aviation industry is advantageous.
- Strong presentation skills in front of leaders and large groups.
- Project management experience.
