How You'll Help Us Keep Climbing (Overview & Key Responsibilities)
The team leader will be responsible for assisting the Manager of OE/Training planning by taking on additional tasks, including Planner scheduling, vacation bidding and last-minute sick or PPT coverage. They will provide SME assistance for OE and Training automation changes by interacting with IT, SIMON, and other teams/departments as needed. Have oversight and coordination of the monthly CQ bidding and IQ flow processes. Assist in the onboarding, training, and mentorship of new Planners. They will assist in resolving training violations by interacting with crew scheduling, Aircrew records and fleets training.
This position will work weekends and support activities include planning and scheduling of pilot training (ground, flight, and OE) for FAA approved training programs. Programs include: qualification (Qual), continuing qualification (CQ), and Re-Qualification (RQ) simulator training, as well as line checks, mid–phases, initial operating experiences (IOEs), transoceanic operations experiences (TOEs) and special airport/theater qualifications (SAQs), currency, consolidation and new LCP/LVP candidate training.
Summary Of Responsibilities (not Comprehensive Of All Tasks)
- Daily and monthly scheduling of students, instructors, LCP’s, and LVP’s.
- Simulator scheduling for various programs as well as coordinating with Sim Engineering and FAA APMs (Aircrew Program Managers) ensuring compliance of devices and pilot training qualifications .
- Interaction with Flight Training/Standards on instructor and student changes, conflicts, and errors.
- Identifies required types of training for pilots returning from leave status or awarded through an Advance Entitlements (AE)
- Maintains working familiarity with the PWA (Pilot Working Agreement), Flight Operations Manual (FOM), Flight Operations Policies and Procedures (FOPP), and other manuals as needed.
- Reviews AE/OE and training data to support key decision making in all areas within the division.
- Identifies and creating new or improved processes to support the changes in the operation.
- Practices safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.

- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, oral, and written communications skills required
- Should exhibit initiative, innovation, and able to work in a fast-paced team environment with minimal supervision
- Should be able to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel up to and including Training/OE Planning, Flight Operations, and FAA leadership
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while meeting strict deadlines
- Ability to quickly learn potentially unfamiliar programs including Delta’s database management system (DBMS), SAP, and OSS.

- Where permitted by applicable law, must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for U.S.-based job, if not currently employed by Delta Air Lines, Inc.

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Previous supervisory experience
- Experience with conducting training
- Extensive knowledge of the Pilot Working Agreement
- Experience with MS Office suite of software products and Smartsheet
