Position Summary
CMM - Responsible for validating conformance of complex machined aerospace components using multiple inspection methodologies including hard gaging, CMM’s and paperwork reviews.
Essential Job Functions
- Conduct CMM inspections of parts, gages and tooling to verify conformance with stated requirements
- Conducts first article, in-process, and final inspections and completes required records of inspection results
- Edits CMM programs and writes basic programs
- Perform troubleshooting of CMM’s
- Complete gage requests and gage calibrations as needed
- Maintain inspection procedures, inspection records and all other quality related documentation
- Review Quality documentation for accuracy and work with Engineering to correct as needed
- Assist Manufacturing and Engineering in determination of part conformance and process capability
- Actively participates in process improvement projects and cost savings activities
- Supports other areas of the Quality Department as needed
- Adheres to all safety guidelines and procedures
- Other assignments as required
Qualifications
- Knowledge of blueprints, drawings and specifications
- Ability to read and interpret GD&T requirements
- Consistently demonstrates high level of commitment to LORD Performance Principles
- Demonstrated ability to solve technical problems
- Able to communicate effectively with management, and co-workers to promote strong working relationships and create an environment focused on teamwork
- Flexible with work and job assignments and willing to perform any function as needed
- Must be dependable and available to work overtime when required
- Proficient with Microsoft Office including Outlook
- Self-motivated and ability to work effectively and efficiently with limited supervision
- Ability to carry/ lift up to 35 lbs. (20% of the time). Must have the ability to stand, kneel, squat, stoop, use fingers and hands to feel, lift or handle tools, parts and equipment.
Experience & Education
Required
- 5 years of dimensional inspection and/or CMM Inspection experience with machined components
- Experience with multiple inspection methods including CMM operation and program edits
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred
- 3 years of Machining experience
