As a Technical Product Owner within the eCommerce Platform Delivery team, you will take accountability for one or more squads within a defined Mission. Your focus will be on the services and capabilities owned by those squads, ensuring they are secure, performant, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
Working closely with Engineers, Architects, Product Managers, and business stakeholders, you will translate business and technical requirements into actionable backlog items that drive both customer value and technical excellence. Your work will contribute directly to the evolution of easyJet’s eCommerce platforms, ensuring they meet today’s needs while enabling future innovation.
What You'll Be Doing
- Own and prioritise the backlog for one or more squads within a Mission, ensuring alignment with the Mission vision and roadmap
- Translate business and Mission needs into clear user stories, requirements, and acceptance criteria
- Work with stakeholders and subject matter experts to analyse needs, define business processes, and ensure requirements are understood across teams
- Validate requirements and maintain traceability to outcomes, supporting clarity, prioritisation, and change management
- Balance functional delivery with scalability, security, performance, and compliance requirements in partnership with engineers and architects
- Act as a bridge between business processes and technical delivery, ensuring that legacy-modern integration challenges are well understood and addressed in backlog items
- Ensure non-functional requirements such as availability, resilience, and monitoring are built into delivery
- Support agile ceremonies, manage dependencies, and ensure squads deliver value consistently
- Capture learnings from incidents and feed them into backlog improvements
- Contribute squad input to the Mission roadmap, balancing near-term delivery with longer-term platform evolution
- Promote automation, DevOps practices, and continuous delivery to drive efficiency and reliability
- Engage business stakeholders and external partners to align delivery with priorities and ensure outcomes meet agreed standards
- Provide transparent communication on squad progress, risks, and value delivered against Mission objectives
What You'll Bring To The Team
- Proven experience as a Product Owner, Technical Product Owner, or similar role in a technology-driven organisation, ideally across multiple squads within a Mission
- Proven experience working with backend systems and large, high-transactional databases, querying data using SQL, performing data analysis on large data sets
- Strong understanding of data, data quality and consistency, and data lineage
- Strong understanding of agile delivery, engineering practices, and product lifecycle management
- Proficiency in leveraging AI tools to enhance everyday tasks and operations
- Hands-on experience with integration platforms, cloud services, and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience working with event-driven architectures, data modelling, or backend integration platforms
- Ability to structure and prioritise backlogs to deliver measurable value and technical outcomes
- Ability to manage technical debt and legacy system constraints while enabling platform evolution
- Skilled at translating complex technical concepts into clear, business-friendly communication
- Strong requirements analysis skills, including capturing business needs, mapping processes, and defining acceptance criteria
- Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance requirements for customer and booking data
- Experience creating and managing user stories, functional/non-functional requirements, and BA artefacts to support delivery
- Understanding of modern software development, integration patterns, and cloud-based architectures
- Ability to balance data quality, compliance, and performance in backlog prioritisation and delivery planning
- Experience within airline, travel, or large-scale eCommerce platforms is advantageous
