Role Introduction
Reporting to: the Cloud & Data Platform Delivery Manager
Join Cathay Technologies as a Cloud and Data Platform Lead. You will play a hands-on leadership role in delivering and operating our cloud infrastructure, platform services, and data engineering capabilities. You will drive technical delivery, operational excellence, and secure, scalable solutions across AWS/Azure, DevOps pipelines, and data platforms. Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate secure, scalable cloud infrastructure and platform services.
- Implement Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD pipelines, and DevSecOps practices.
- Deliver automated, reusable platform components to enhance developer experience.
- Ensure platform reliability, observability, performance, and operational resilience.
- Support application teams with onboarding, automation, troubleshooting, and technical issues.
- Design and deliver scalable data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and robust data models.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and production readiness of data platforms.
- Drive adoption of automation, compliance, and quality standards across delivery teams.
- Coordinate delivery execution, vendor collaboration, and cost optimization under FinOps.
- Promote engineering best practices, team collaboration, and continuous learning.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline (Master’s preferred).
- 7+ years of experience in cloud, platform, infrastructure, or data engineering roles.
- Proven track record leading technical delivery and small to medium-sized teams.
- Hands-on expertise with AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms.
- Strong experience in DevOps/DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure-as-Code.
- Solid background in data engineering, ETL/ELT, data modeling, and integration.
- Knowledge of IT service operations, production support, observability, and incident management.
- Strong technical leadership, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Certifications in DevOps/DevSecOps, ITIL, or service management are advantageous.
- Airline/travel industry experience and proficiency in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.
