Technical Records Specialist is available onsite in Columbus, Ohio. The role of a Technical Records Specialist is crucial in ensuring the accurate collection, organization, and maintenance of aircraft records. This position involves transcribing data into electronic maintenance tracking databases, conducting audits to uphold data integrity, and facilitating compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations. The Technical Records Specialist plays a pivotal role in providing comprehensive historical records for all aircraft, engines, and related components, contributing to the overall safety and efficiency of aviation operations.

Your Responsibilities
- Collects, sorts, and file aircraft records.
- Transcribes data from records into the electronic maintenance tracking program database.
- Assure accuracy of aircraft and timeline data entry.
- Conducts ongoing reviews and audits of the aircraft records & records systems to ensure its integrity.
- Provides support and training necessary to maintain and improve the Aircraft Records system.
- Ensures compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and provides consistent and complete historical records of all aircraft, engines, and related components.
- Analyzes records flows and develops more efficient methods to ensure maximum accuracy and currency of records.
- Assists in the preparation of records, materials, and/or reports requested by other departments, FAA, or leasing company representatives.
- Maintains accurate and complete Airworthiness Directive (AD compliance, assembly status, and forecast information for airframes, engines, and appliances).
- Investigates and documents life-limited parts back to birth, and ensures the vendor provides adequate documentation on birth, use, and serviceability.
- Assists in reviewing and monitoring ADs to ensure tracking and documentation are adequate for forecasting and providing compliance on airframes, engines, landing gears, and appliances.
- Maintains records and time standards of serialized aircraft parts and inspections as set forth by company Aircraft Maintenance Programs and FAA directives.
- Conduct records audits and ensure compliance between company policies and the Aircraft Maintenance Tracking Software.
- Assists in developing and administering records training.
- Maintains a database of aircraft records, maintenance personnel, and external maintenance vendors.
- Assists in developing and maintaining robust SOPs for the records department.
- Promotes Safety Management System (SMS).
- Identify and evaluate safety hazards and promote aviation safety.
- Adopt appropriate best industry practices.
Required Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
Key Attributes and education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Proficient in collecting, sorting, and filing aircraft records.
- Skilled in transcribing data into electronic maintenance tracking systems with a focus on accuracy.
- Familiar with FAA regulations to maintain complete and compliant historical records.
- Capable of conducting audits and optimizing record-keeping processes for efficiency.
- Effective communication to facilitate collaboration and training within the records department.
- Understanding of Airworthiness Directive (AD) compliance and tracking for various aircraft components.
- Able to investigate and document life-limited parts and ensure vendor documentation compliance.
- Proficient in conducting records audits to maintain compliance.
- Skilled in developing and administering training programs for the records department.
- Competent in developing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Committed to promoting safety and identifying hazards in alignment with industry best practices.
Physical Demands:
- The physical demands of this position are typical of an office environment. However, occasionally field work will be in a warehouse environment. The noise level in the work area is moderate.
