Position Summary
The Role
We are looking for a quality-focused Deburring Operative to join our aerospace manufacturing team. Working in a bench-based environment, you will support the production of precision-machined components used in hydraulic valve assemblies for aircraft braking systems.
This role involves manually removing burrs, sharp edges and loose material from small, intricate components using specialist hand tools while ensuring the highest standards of quality, cleanliness and safety. Attention to detail is essential, as even the smallest defect may impact the performance of safety-critical aerospace products.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities of the Role
- Deburr and hand-finish precision-machined components using a range of approved hand tools.
- Inspect components to ensure all burrs, sharp edges and loose material have been removed.
- Work to engineering drawings, work instructions, route cards and quality requirements.
- Maintain high standards of component cleanliness and FOD (Foreign Object Debris) control.
- Ensure components meet aerospace quality standards and are suitable for downstream assembly.
Qualifications
Skills Required
- Experience working within a manufacturing, engineering, machining, assembly or precision bench-work environment.
- Previous deburring experience and the ability to use hand-finishing tools such as scrapers, files, abrasive stones, brushes and countersink tools.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and follow detailed work instructions.
- Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail when working on small, intricate components.
- Aerospace experience is preferred, although candidates from automotive or other precision manufacturing environments will be considered.
