The Division Sourcing and Procurement Manager has full responsibility for managing the direction and daily activities of the Motion and Power Sensing Division’s procurement of raw materials, parts, components and operating supplies required for production of commercial aerospace products. This position reports to the Division Supply Chain Manager and is responsible for developing and executing strategies for identifying new and additional source suppliers, partnering to qualify new suppliers, directly managing or providing support to work transfer from one supplier to another. The incumbent is also responsible for leading Best Cost Region strategy and driving lean enterprises systems throughout the procurement process.
Your responsibilities
- Develop & execute the Procurement Category Management Strategy for the Division. Plans and direct the activities of the Division's purchases of raw materials, supplies, equipment or services.
- Identify raw material requirements from production specifications, operational schedules and engineering quality requirements. Determine the most cost efficient and reliable materials needed for the manufacturing process.
- Establish preferred supplier selection criteria based on supplier evaluations of price, quality, delivery, certifications, and compliance with governmental procurement regulations. Promote and use strategic suppliers.
- Partner in interviewing, selecting and negotiating with suppliers in response to material requirements/cost issues. Establish procedures to leverage the company's position. Ensure purchasing strategy reflects the consistent utilization of local suppliers vs. Division strategic suppliers.
- Work with suppliers to develop and manage continuous improvement programs, addressing quality, delivery, service as well as price.
- Develop standard/automated re-order procedures. Develop crisis management and supplier backup contingency programs.
- Develop and benchmark best practices among the Divisions suppliers and maintain accurate measurements and records for evaluation of suppliers.
- Manage a team of Category Managers. Functional leadership of the 6 locations Procurement and Purchasing Managers.
Who we are looking for
- Master degree in Procurement or Materials Management.
- Minimum of 10 years procurement/purchasing/managerial experience.
- Possess the analytical and technical skills required to understand business practices.
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills for effective interface with all internal and external contacts.
- Must have functional understanding of cost accounting and adapt to practical application.
- Must have advanced computer skills and be able to understand electronic processing.
- Must be an innovator and embrace Lean Enterprise principles and practices.
- Background in Aerospace would be an asset.
