Primary Purpose of Role
The Manager – People Support Services is responsible for leading and managing the People (HR) Support Services function within the organization. This role oversees the delivery of high-quality HR services, including employee support, HR administration, payroll, and HR systems, ensuring an excellent employee experience. The manager collaborates closely with HR business partners and center of expertise teams to implement HR policies, streamline processes, and support organizational goals.

Key responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Lead, coach, and develop the People Support Services team to deliver timely and accurate HR operational services.
- Oversee HR administration across the employee lifecycle (onboarding, changes, offboarding, records management, etc.).
- Manage query resolution via HR helpdesk, ensuring prompt and effective responses.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, legal, and regulatory requirements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimize HR processes and leverage HR technology.
- Monitor HR service delivery metrics and report on performance.
- Collaborate with payroll, benefits, and talent acquisition teams for seamless processes.
- Promote a positive, customer-focused service culture within the HR function.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Significant experience in HR shared services or HR operations, with leadership responsibilities.
- Strong understanding of HR policies, systems, and best practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
- High attention to detail and commitment to service excellence.
- Proven ability to drive process improvement and manage change.
Essential
- 10 years of experience in of experience working in HR or an administrative support role or a University Degree or Diploma in Human Resources or a related field
- Proficient in English (both written and oral).
- Ability to work well and collaborate in a team environment.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to handle situations tactfully when dealing with customers.
- Ability to prioritize duties during periods of high volume and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong time management skills (meeting SLAs).
- Discretion to deal with personal and confidential information with sensitivity and tact.
- Adaptable to changing business practices.
- Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Solid critical thinking skills.
Highly Desirable
- Prior experience with ServiceNow or another HR case management tool.
- Prior experience with Workday or similar HRIS systems.
- Knowledge of HR practices either through post-secondary education, an HR professional designation, and/or work experience in HR.
- Experience in a customer service or shared services environment.
