ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM:
As a Specialist/Engineer Service Operations you will manage the VHF Infrastructure deployment, lifecycle, and monitoring of the VHF network. Your role will be accountable for leading the full lifecycle of multiple projects ensuring the solution implemented fulfils the desired functional and business requirements according to the agreed scope, budget, and timeline. Your responsibilities will involve proactive monitoring of the VHF network to meet or exceed the established KPIs and SLA targets.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Lead small to mid-size VHF/VDL project delivery from engagement to completion. Includes activities such as (but not limited to) site identification (incl. survey and lease agreement), operating license authorization, equipment ordering, installation, and cutover;
- Monitor and control the schedule of the requirements for acquisition, construction, and dismantling or relocation of equipment and related structure in accordance with validated requirements and manage the in-transit material for construction and installation.
- Ensure documentation and procedures for deployment and maintenance are updated and relevant and organize all relevant permits and contracts with local landlords/authorities;
- Ownership of the supplier’s process regarding quotation and purchase request management and coordination with various entities and 3rd party suppliers during all project phases;
- Participate in analysis exercises of existing VHF Ground Stations to identify significant problems or trends, prepare technical performance reports, anticipated impact, and provide recommendations for corrective actions;
- Perform validation and qualification of VHF Ground Systems, Avionics and ATN systems (Aeronautical Telecommunication Network) and DataLink Services (VHF, VDL, ATN) performance analysis and improvement;
- Provide Field Engineer support and technical assistance (i.e. VHF and/or ACARS processor) for the diagnosis, isolation and restoration;
- Coordinate and follow up on Incident, Request or Continuous Improvement actions to ensure resolution or optimization actions are completed.
EXPERIENCE:
- B. Tech./B.E. degree in Electronics & Telecomm or Computer Science, Technical degree.
- Experience in site planning and configuration of VHF Ground Station facilities and equipment and quality control/compliance of VHF Ground Station installation, test & commission.
- Experience with RF/VHF Technology, IP-based telecommunication networks and basic knowledge of CISCO routers, switches
- Experience in coordinating hardware/network refresh and spare management programs is desirable.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote, globally distributed team environment
- Fluent in English is a must as the role will support Europe overall.
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Experience and/or knowledge of ServiceNow.
