Maintenance Planner is available onsite in Columbus, OH. The Maintenance Planner is crucial to the scheduling and management of the long-range planning of scheduled maintenance and discretionary events. The LRP receives strategy, parameters and guidance, and develops the long-range schedules for the organization’s fleet of aircraft. The LRP plays a critical role with respect to the efficient scheduling of maintenance inputs and minimizing aircraft downtimes to maximize aircraft availability.

Your Responsibilities
- Responsible for long-range forecasting, applying agreed strategies for the long-range planning of scheduled base and discretionary maintenance events.
- Seeks to optimize the scheduling of aircraft downtimes to ensure maximum aircraft availability while ensuring all required maintenance is performed in a timely manner.
- Schedules all base and discretionary maintenance events, ensuring that each selected maintenance provider has the approvals, skilled trades, labor, tooling and capacity to perform the work package in the agreed timeframe.
- Work closely with maintenance service providers to achieve shortest aircraft downtimes.
- Participates in the daily critical review of all scheduled maintenance events with Planning Team to ensure that long-range planning reflects the approved maintenance program requirements and demands of the operation.
- Supports the Manger of Base Maintenance Planning by delivering an accurate monthly projection of the next minimum 12 months of scheduled and discretionary maintenance, which will be reviewed with contracted maintenance providers to negotiate slots and downtimes.
- Develops base maintenance work packages that make efficient use of aircraft downtime, while ensuring that all due / forecast scheduled checks and tasks, Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, modifications, repairs, component replacements, etc. are performed.
- Effectively executes agreed fleet campaigns and the timely performance of Airworthiness Directive actions, mandatory Service bulletin compliance and implementation of new regulatory requirements, as directed by the Manger of Base Maintenance Planning.
- Ensures all assigned work packages contain the latest revision of the applicable task cards, checks, instructions, drawings, etc. required by the maintenance service providers to perform the work package as efficiently as possible.
- Builds work packages in the maintenance tracking software, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Develops Requests for Quotation (RFQs) for large base maintenance events including scheduled maintenance checks; modifications; aircraft painting; cabin refurbishments; engine, APU and landing gear replacements; etc.
- Reviews supplier proposals to RFQs and provides analysis to Manger of Base Maintenance Planning.
- Works closely with Procurement Team to ensure that all required parts, materials and tooling are available and delivered to the contract maintenance service provider for each scheduled work package.
- Collaborates with the Technical Services Team to support the integration of new Maintenance Program revisions and support development of tailored bridging programs if/when required when Maintenance Program revisions are released.
- Collaborate with Director of Planning to develop more efficient and effective processes.
- Coach and mentor less senior maintenance planners and supporting team members.
Required Skills, Qualifications, and Experience

- Proven experience in long range aircraft maintenance planning.

- Demonstrated skills in developing efficient and effective maintenance planning processes.
- Extensive knowledge of aircraft maintenance programs, maintenance tracking software and aircraft maintenance planning
- Capable of successfully delivering results and managing deadlines in a demanding environment.
- Possess a solid understanding of aircraft maintenance and relationship with maintenance programs.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School graduate
- 2 years of maintenance planning experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Holder of FAA A&P license or equivalent
- 5+ years of maintenance planning experience.
