Project Controller
Location: Belfast – hybrid role with 3 days in the office weekly

Our Opportunity
Thales UK has a fantastic opportunity for an individual to join our Project Management Office (PMO) as Project Controller, as part of the centre of excellence for Integrated Airspace Protection Systems.

This opportunity would suit individuals either already in the development stages of their career in Project Controls or Project Management (or similar), or individuals with transferable skills and aspirations to pursue a career in Project Controls.
You will be responsible for providing project planning, monitoring and control expertise for one of our leading projects. Key to the role is to integrate into the project management team to assist the PM in key decision-making.
On a day to day basis you’ll be involved in:
- Liaising with appropriate stakeholders to create and maintain integrated master schedules for projects
- Producing project reports and facilitating reviews in accordance with project timescales
- Ensuring governance, deployment & reporting of Risk & Opportunity Management
- Liaising with the project team to collect and monitor the use of ‘lessons learned’ as part of a continuous improvement culture
- Ensuring Thales mandated tools are deployed and used appropriately and that a robust change control process is implemented for projects
About You:
If you have a background in PMO, Planning, Estimating/Cost office, or Risk (or similar), or transferable skills and aspirations to pursue a career in Project Controls this could be a new career opportunity for you?
You will ideally have experience of planning, scheduling, data analysis & cost control within a complex engineering/manufacturing/ financial environment covering high level & detailed schedule compilation, programme reporting, budgeting & risk management together with the following:-
- An awareness and desire to work in Project Controls, and have transferable skills to supporting the delivery of successful projects.
- Experience analysing large amounts of data and have strong mathematical skills. This is a very numerical based role.
- Excellent organisational skills to relating to planning and scheduling – ideally previous exposure of Primavera or other planning tools would be desirable but not necessary.
- Experience working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, where you often juggle multiple tasks at any one time.
- Proven experience of building strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders together with having excellent communication and team working skills.
- Be able to demonstrate strong negotiation, presentation and report writing skills
