What Will You Be Doing?
The Distribution Senior Analyst develops analytical tools to identify and quantify opportunities within the Distribution area and provides insights to optimize Frontier's distribution strategy and profitability. The Distribution Senior Analyst is responsible for building the appropriate reporting processes and visualizations to monitor sales channels performance and cost of sale. The Distribution Senior Analyst is also responsible of budgeting, forecasting and controlling distribution costs. As an integral part of Frontier's success, Distribution team receives high visibility by senior management and enjoy a range of formal training and informal learning opportunities to support ongoing professional development and career growth.
Essential Functions
- Extract, transform and manipulate data to create clean datasets surrounding Frontier’s distribution and sales channels.
- Design and produce reports and dashboards to analyze channel performance and illustrate industry trends, combining internal and external data sources, while developing and implementing the required processes to maintain and update such reports and dashboards.
- Monitor distribution KPIs and performance by channel across the entire global market, including analysis by region, by point of sale and by travel agency.
- Develop appropriate analysis to support decision making and assist in evolving the sales policies and the distribution strategy of the company.
- Leverage big data to understand customer behavior and demand by channel.
- Support sales planning on marketing and promotional efforts via third parties.
- Identify, analyze and quantify opportunities for distribution optimization, looking to maximize revenues or reduce cost of sale while increasing or protecting market share.
- Present analysis and recommendations to different levels of audience.
- Develop models to forecast distribution costs and support budgeting process.
- Audit and reconciliate distribution invoices, identifying and explaining deviations versus forecast when required.
- Understand commercial agreements with GDS and assist with economic modelling during negotiations.
- Research on distribution practices and policies from other airlines and sales partners.
Other Functions
- Interact with commercial teams (Commercial Analytics, Digital, Ancillaries, Pricing, Revenue Management, Revenue Integrity, Marketing and Network planning) and cross-departmental areas (Finance, Customer Care, IT, etc.) to distill quantitative and qualitative inputs into meaningful insights.
- Review, redesign and automate processes.
- Create documentations, code standards, code library and workflows, where industrialized processes are necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; major(s) in Operations Research, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Finance, Aviation Management or related analytical field strongly preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in commercial analytics, distribution, pricing, revenue management, customer insights, retail analytics, and/or finance required, preferably in an airline , travel related company or consulting within the industry.
- Previous professional experience using big data required.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Solid understanding of airline commercial metrics, network design, online selling processes, revenue management principles, e-commerce platforms, Global Distribution Systems, online booking tools and travel technology infrastructures desired.
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills, including the capacity to assemble information, extract pertinent facts and draw logical conclusions.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel.
- Intermediate to advanced programming skills (Python or R), with ability to write SQL code to query against disparate data sources.
- Previous professional experience with a version control system (such as Git).
- Previous professional experience building data visualizations on PowerBI, Tableau or Zenz.
- Previous professional experience analyzing data from Google Analytics, MIDT, Pharos or DIIO will be a plus.
- Ability to translate detailed complexity into simple clear messages, adapting style to the audience and situation.
- Strong organizational skills; comfortable working independently, prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, while keeping track of several projects at the same time.
- Strong work ethic; delivers results in ambiguous and time-pressured situations.
