What Will You Be Doing?
The IT Project Manager III position is responsible for the full project life cycle of large-scale complex projects and programs. This includes, planning, developing and managing budgets, schedules and resource plans to deliver high quality projects. Integral to the position is the ability to effectively bridge the gap between not only business stakeholders and the technology but between business leadership and the teams. The IT PM III also acts as mentor within the PMO department and as a subject matter expert in IT project management methodology for the business.
Essential Functions
- Manage large scale projects and programs to successful completion.
- Work multiple projects simultaneously.
- Identify and align project objectives with company goals.
- Identify resource requirements, both internally and externally.
- Oversee strategic plan, monitoring and adapting as needed.
- Expertly create and manage all necessary documentation.
- Monitor, drive and manage all aspects of project scope.
- Clearly communicate and manage project expectations to all stakeholders.
- Expertly facilitate all project related meetings.
- Expertly manage projects in/via multiple project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, POC, etc.)
- Develop and implement both simple and complex stakeholder communication plans.
- Participate in the development and evolution of PMO standards.
- Contribute to portfolio management.
Qualifications
- 8 to 10+ years of experience with highly complex IT projects/programs from inception to completion
- Master’s Degree in IT Project Management, Business Analysis or IT Leadership preferred; combination of relevant education and work experience considered in lieu of degree
- Project Management Professional (PMP), Masters Certification in IT Project Management, Certified Scrum Master or similar work experience is preferred
Domain Experience
- 5+ years of experience in the commercial aviation field or relatable experience
- 5+ years of experience with enterprise network systems
- 8+ years of experience in IT implementation, development or complex process changes
- Experience with security and compliance best practices
- Experience with providing leadership to business units for establishing technology direction and utilization
- Specific proven experience with managing external vendor relationship as pertains to project delivery
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Advanced knowledge of use case, business, business requirement, functional requirement and user stories validation and management
- Advanced knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, POC, Hybrid, Kanban, Scrum project management methodology
- Expert level knowledge of IT project management templates and software
- A self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to effectively set project management standards to specific requirements and unify project teams around those standards
- Impeccable work ethic and strong team leader
- Ability to work in a fast paced, “think on your feet” team environment
- Ability to handle stressful environments
- Excellent proven troubleshooting skills
- General knowledge of aviation operations
