Ramp Allocator
Menzies Aviation
Do you enjoy planning, solving problems and keeping things moving when the operation gets busy?
Ramp and Baggage Hall is the largest operational department at Menzies Copenhagen. We are now building a new
Ramp Operation Team to strengthen how we plan and allocate our people across the operation.
As a
Ramp Allocator, you will help make sure we have the right people, with the right skills, in the right place at the right time.
You will report to the
Ramp Manager and work closely with the Long-Term Planner, Ramp Duty Managers and the wider operation.
What will you do?
- Allocate Ramp and Baggage Hall staff to flights and tasks based on workload, staffing and required skills
- Work closely with the Long-Term Planner to turn the longer-term plan into a practical daily allocation
- Adjust the plan when flights, staffing or operational priorities change
- Keep an overview of attendance, qualifications, staffing levels and operational needs
- Manage annual leave days, compensation, training, absences, sick leave and overtime on the roster in a cost- effective manner.
- Manage roster extensions, delays and call-ins in a cost-effective and fair manner.
- Make the best use of our people while considering safety, service, employee welfare and cost
- Work with the operation to identify and solve staffing issues before they become bigger problems
- Support resource allocation in other parts of the business when needed
- Use our planning systems and tools to keep information accurate and up to date
- Contribute to improving how we plan and use our resources
What are we looking for?
You don't need to know our systems when you start. We will train you. What we need is someone who understands operations, enjoys working with people and can keep a clear head when things get busy.
You:
- Have experience from ramp, ground handling, aviation or another fast-paced operational environment
- Are structured and good at keeping an overview - your strong organizational and time management skills enable you to plan and prioritize with due diligence
- Can make decisions and adapt quickly when plans change - you demonstrate initiative and are able to work independently in a busy environment
- Show high-level attention to detail
- Are proactive and solution-oriented
- Understand the importance of good planning for both employees and the business
- Have an eye for productivity and efficient use of resources
- Communicate well and work comfortably with different teams - your strong interpersonal and communication skills make you a trusted partner for leadership as well as colleagues
- Are comfortable learning new systems and working with data – and you are proficient in managing sensitive and confidential information
- Speak and write English; Danish is an advantage
What We Offer
You will join a
new Ramp Operations team and work close to the operation every day.
We will give you proper training in our planning processes and systems, and you will work closely with experienced colleagues across Ramp, Baggage Hall and Operations.
The operation can get busy, especially during the summer, so this role suits someone who stays calm under pressure, enjoys solving problems and likes being part of the action.
