ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM
As Senior Manager Software Development, we need you to build the team in India development centre for Borders Business Unit, focus on customer journey outcomes to give our customers a secure, reliable, system. You will be working with diverse teams of like-minded people trained in various other technologies. We work together to deliver valuable software changes efficiently. We use automation, and the latest technologies to improve our productivity, without sacrificing quality. We use continuous improvement feedback loops to streamline how we develop software.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Identify optimizations from technology, people and process perspectives and taking responsibility and accountability for executing the optimizations for their product areas.
- Intimately know your customer journeys, roadmaps as well as the customers.
- Ensure alignment between customer journeys and set priorities based on organizational needs.
- Maintains overall accountability for multiple mediums to large-scale development, implementation, and maintenance projects that have a significant cross-functional business impact ensuring the solution(s) developed can sustain the long-term goals of the business.
- You will work with Customer Journey leads, software engineers, test automation engineers, solution architects, UX Designers, and other members of our 'full practice' DevOps teams to assess risks or dependencies and make decisions to move forward.
- Have meaningful conversations with the technology teams, empowering them to do the right things and facilitating technical decision making. Making technical decisions where necessary.
- Provide performance management for all the members of your team, helping them achieve more than they could have without your support.
- Review feedback and ensure teams are aligned to deliver desired outcomes
- Understand the associated costs for developing and maintaining your product areas, taking responsibility and accountability for ensuring the product costs are optimized in relation to the PnL for the product.
- Work very closely with the business leaders for your product areas, securing strategic visions ad ensuring that the technology vision and execution for the product supports business strategy.
- Assume responsibility for the E2E solution development, deployment and operational readiness, working cross organizational domain to ensure success.
- Define the staffing needs of your projects and work with the CTO to transform those into budgets interlocked with our Product Team
- Champion best practices for your team so they can deliver in the right way, both from an engineering and an agile perspective.
ABOUT YOUR SKILLS
- Proven abilities in working across teams and functions.
- Good practical knowledge of working with DevOps and Agile frameworks
- Demonstrate solid knowledge of and ability to apply advanced software development principles, theories, programming languages, concepts, and techniques.
- Demonstrate competent use of development and project tools.
- Must be able to demonstrate a broad range of Software Development experience
- Manage your own and teams’ contributions to tight deadlines and ability to prioritize and focus effort on the right tasks.
- Responsible for fostering a strong positive collaboration with the internal teams and external customers to meet strategic goals.
- 10+ years’ experience in a Software Engineering environment.
- 5+ years in people management preferably with matrix experience in a global environment.
- Bachelors or Master’s degree in Computer Sciences or Engineering.
- Formal training in project management (PMP) preferred
